Lock your eyes on first EA Sports MMA screenshot

Look, we're cool with realistic violence in games -- from a distance. Exploding heads, severed limbs, gratuitous gore -- it's all got to be separated by at least a sword's length; or better: the distance traveled by a bullet.
This bare, get-on-the-floor and grapple-it-out violence is just, well, confusing. Look at that balding guy's expression*. Look closer. What is that all about? It's, like, the antisocial rage it takes to snap a man's arm (against one's groin, no less) coupled with the extreme constipation indicative of training the body to destroy people (go on, squeeze it out) and the extraordinary pain brought on by a set of incisors biting into the tender flesh behind the knee -- and then it's all locked together in what appears to be pure ... ecstasy? We know the sport's all about mixing it up, but these are mixed messages. C'mon, folks, we don't need this stuff in the way of kicking ass. Games must not imitate real life.

I'm glad this isn't a UFC game. Dana White is an ass who has too much control over the sport. We need a game that focuses more on the fighters and technique rather than just padding Dana's pockets and ego.

Even though I would like to see what EA does, I think it's pretty lame they dissed MMA then decided to make an MMA GAME after UFC had a good reception.
I think this game will tank since it won't have the support of UFC, the only big name in MMA right now.

I'd say Heavy Rain will definitely beat this. But even it won't be 'real'.
Really, the FMV games were more real, since they were just video overlayed on a game screen. But that's a whole nother story.

Dude, stop it, just stop it. Hating for no reason needs to be against the law or sumthin'.
I've seen an even worse image of this same pic and I was like, "Whoa, that looks real" and now I see this cleaner image and I'm even more amazed at how real this looks. Good job with that but of course EA's HAS to come with great graphics in this game because of UFC 2009's great graphics, at least when it comes to the fighters and ref.
Now, if they can get the movements down, I MIGHT consider getting this...but then again, after playing the UFC 09 demo, I thought I might get that one, too, and didn't. Lol. Most likely, I won't get MMA, neither, but it looks great from that one image.

just keep in mind that this image is at 580x326 pixels. probably because it would blow your mind at 1920x1080. regardless of which game has better graphics, this game looks pretty damn real and i don't think you can really deny that.

Herein lies the problem of EA making a video game based off a guy that only a small amount of hardcore fans know. EA MMA with Fedor who? Where's Chuck Liddell?

Ugh.....! Must EA insert itself into every sport? And yes it looks a bit to real. I much perfered the old wrestling games where they didnt look so life like but rather cartoony. If they where smart they'd go that route and use some of the Def Jam style engine for the game. But 'eh whateva I'm not in charge... and they are right Fedor looks like he is trying to pass a brick. Then again him shying away from fighting Brock so would I haha
