PAL PSA: Black Wii bundle now available for pre-order, discounted in UK

We've got some welcome news for European readers who somehow don't already own a Wii -- or for those of you who already have one, but just can't resist the temptation of the new black model. Amazon.uk has opened pre-orders for the new Wii Sports Resort bundle, which includes a Wiimote, a Nunchuk and a MotionPlus all dressed in black, along with both Wii Sports games. The bundle will ship on November 6 and is available on additional Amazon branches, as well; though the release dates for other European territories is November 20.

The UK pre-order price is even discounted a bit to £164.99 (roughly $270) -- the same bundle in boring old white normally retails for £179.99. (The black and white bundles are priced the same, at €209.99, elsewhere in Europe.) The white bundle, however, includes your choice of two additional games -- a small sacrifice for that spooky black coating, we say.

As for you importers, we suppose this could be the ideal time to pursue a PAL model, if you simply can't wait for the black system to be announced for North America. Then again, in doing so, you'll also have to import all of your games. Patience.

Black seems to be the most desired color for consoles. Considering both Nintendo and Microsoft ended up releasing black versions later after launch.

Yes. Besides, that meme has been dead for years. I don't think I've seen it on these boards in a long time.

Is there a way to transfer DLC between Wii consoles? Say I wanted to waste some money replacing my white one for this new fancy black one. Can I use the Virtual Console games I've bought on the new console?

Call Nintendo and send both Wii systems to them. They will do it for you. Just tell them that your white Wii is giving you some problems (tell them that it crashes very often while playing and stuff) and that you are planning to replace the white Wii with a new one.

I know, it sucks... but it will work.

Can't you just copy them to an SD memory card

All VC/WiiWare stuff is totally bound to the system it's on. The newer system for moving those files around still does not allow them to be played on another Wii (unless we're talking homebrew)

Even certain game-save files can't be copied (Brawl, iirc. Probably others)

is there a way to somehow hack the wii to be north american regioned? Id figure it wouldnt be that hard.

I think it can be done after installing the Homebrew channel & some other apps.

You would have to import at least one game to get the homebrew hack going, to later get region-free up.

I'm not entirely up on what game anymore, since Twilight Hack has apparently been killed completely, but there are others, though i don't know what.

Why is the black controller on the box cover much longer then my white controller??
Oh, that’s right...The new Wii will come with the Wii plus attached.

However, I can just picture my self owning this black remote and saying “Excuse me while I whip this out!” Before I turn on my Wii with it.

If I'm not mistaken, you can't transfer ownership of DLC from one Wii to another, so if you've got a Wii, have donwloaded a ton of Wiiware/VC games, you can't transfer them over here once you buy it.

So... basically this is pointless for any current Wii owners unless they've never bought ANYTHING?

I would LOVE to have a black Wii.........but until I know they can run Homebrew Channel on it......No Sale.
