Spend $80 on games at Amazon, get $40 in credit

So, like the headline says, if you pick up $80 worth of (select!) gaming goodness from now until October 31, you'll get a voucher worth $40 from Amazon seven days after your items ship. This credit comes through your email so, when it's all said and done, you should be able to treat yourself on top of making it a special season for a few of your closest. But, as for the games that qualify, well -- there's some really great titles in here for just about any type of gamer.
Know a music lover? Hey, how about The Beatles: Rock Band? If you know a comic junkie, then there's always the exceptional Batman: Arkham Asylum. Heck, if you got a couple friends, give 'em Borderlands, then use the credit to get yourself a copy for some co-op delight. How about some Uncharted 2? See what we mean? There's lots of good stuff in this sale.
Of course, there's always the option to just buy yourself a bunch of stuff, but we know even you aren't that selfish, right? Right?

Hahah why would you get the hardened edition? You can just get COD1 on pc for like... 2 dollars, and I'm sure your computer can run it if it was made in the last decade.

trophies/achievements for one thing. another thing, a lot of people are only comfortable on consoles. if they wanted to play on PC, they'd likely buy the PC version of MW2.

I just prefer it on Console. My friends are getting it on console, and my PC is the only one that can handle anything greater than TF2 on low settings.
I really like the case that comes with MW2, the art book looks kinda cool, and CoD Classic is just icing on the cake.

Nonono, I'm saying the only real bonus for the Hardened edition is COD1 for XBLA, which his computer can definitely run and can be had for much cheaper than the added cost for the Hardened edition. Without it, it amounts to a tin case and art book (which you can skim through in about 30 seconds and probably won't have anything interesting anyway) for 20 dollars.
I'm getting MW2 for 360 too, since my computer couldn't run it. If 200 achievement points is really worth 20 dollars, go for it I guess, but it's still really dumb. I used to get special editions for everything but lately I just have if it seems like there's actually something of added value. The (unfortunately) gamestop-exclusive AC2 edition looks good. The MW2 ones are retarded at best and flagrant disrespect towards the consumer at worst. Of course, Halo has proven that fans will buy literally anything.

I was watching Hulu today, and they keep forcing me to watch full trailers for ODST, or making of videos. This is an alternative from watching four normal commercials for ODST. Either way its annoying. But thats beside the point.
The point is: they said in the making of video that they've made the "best game ever" and then it cuts to them exlpaining how they have four xboxs hooked up via LAN for firefight. Sure is the greatest game ever, hooking up all my friend's systems with archaic ethernet cables and TVs. Tons of fun.
The people who bought that game are certified idiots.

Aww man, I was about to buy myself Uncharted and NGS 2, but now you're making me feel guilty.
I just don't think the people that would buy this for me would act in time.

Amazon has been killing 'em with the deals lately. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but they've also been giving away a $10 credit for just about any game you pre-order with them. And their prices are normally a couple bucks cheaper than most places already.

Most of the games on the list that I want I already have. Tempted to get Katamari Forever and Brutal Legend, but I'll hold off. The only other game I plan on buying this year is God of War Collection, saving my money for christmas presents.
