There's no denying it: the holidays are right around the corner. Have you even begun to make your shopping list yet? Yeah, we thought so -- how'd you like some help? If you're planning on picking up some disc-based fun for a friend or loved one this year, then you may want to consider Amazon's current promotion.
So, like the headline says, if you pick up $80 worth of (select!) gaming goodness from now until October 31, you'll get a voucher worth $40 from Amazon seven days after your items ship. This credit comes through your email so, when it's all said and done, you should be able to treat yourself on top of making it a special season for a few of your closest. But, as for the games that qualify, well -- there's some really great titles in here for just about any type of gamer.
Know a music lover? Hey, how about The Beatles: Rock Band? If you know a comic junkie, then there's always the exceptional Batman: Arkham Asylum. Heck, if you got a couple friends, give 'em Borderlands, then use the credit to get yourself a copy for some co-op delight. How about some Uncharted 2? See what we mean? There's lots of good stuff in this sale.
Of course, there's always the option to just buy yourself a bunch of stuff, but we know even you aren't that selfish, right? Right?

Does the PC version of Borderlands fall into this deal?

Much rather go to Best-Buy (Like I'm planning on to Thursday when Episodes from Liberty City is released) and pick what I actually want rather than what they want me to buy.

That's all well and good, except that everybody and their mother has cleaned out the nearest Best Buy, making it a pain to grab anything else I really wanted. This's also why Amazon has the clear advantage.
Hurry.

I'm just not too happy it conveniently misses the window for Dragon Age: Origins and Assassin's Creed 2.
At least, I can grab that 2nd copy of Borderlands on the cheap now.

As many users have already stated, this was done in response to Best Buy's buy 2 get 1 free promotion. If you actually calculate the price of the games bought at BB + taxes and compare it to the Amazon games there is a couple dollars difference either way. And as one user stated he saw Halo Wars go up in price, so they probably shifted some up and others down to create comporable price matches to any combination of games.
Now, I have an Amazon credit card and would much rather buy from them, because I hate Best Buy but there is something to be said for having you game in hand today, even if you do have prime like myself.

I like how there's no PC section it and the DS section has Wii games. Thanks Amazon. Thanks for nothing!

gah! so many good gaming deals right now, and i have so little money! really tempted by the COD:MW2 $20 credit, and if it stacks with this deal then that's just a ridiculously good deal. but so little money and don't know how the wife would feel about me spending on this...

Muramasa + The Conduit = Left 4 Dead 2 for $5 (PC) - i swore i wouldn't spend more then $30 for the glorified expansion but i was going to miss the experience of playing the campaigns for the first time same as everyone else. You play a campaign after everyone has passed it multiple times it takes the surprise and excitement away from it all.
