Blomkamp already had the story for District 9 years ago when he did the short film it was based on. It just took the cancellation of the Halo movie for District 9 to be made, since they took over Halo's production resources and freed up Jackson's time to help. Storywise, Halo and D9 are not related at all.

Yeah, I knew that the story isn't related. I was just saying that compared to God of War, Halo is more related to District 9 considering the two that headed District 9 were also involved in the Halo movie.

Actually, if you're not taking into account storyline relation, then District 9 and God of War are more related since Sony has rights to both of them. Halo was out of the picture once Halo the Movie was cancelled.

I don't think this is an issue that needs to be looked into so deeply. I mean, it is just a promotion. Sure may seem like an match you don't see everyday but so what? I'm one of the few that has not played the first two God of War games (I know, ridiculous) but looking back now I'm glad I didn't cause I get to play them in HD now. I've heard people complain about wanting the GoW Demo but not wanting to buy the games again...great, get D9. I heard its a great movie, I plan on getting that when it comes out as well

Awesome movie and an awesome game's demo featured on an awesome HD format that is all linked to the same company.

I don't see how anyone can say that this isn't all connected or that it makes no sense.

The connection is both are awesome, why limit such a pairing by looking for coherent traits between the two?

Also since I dislike buying films on disc, I will probably rent.

So wait, why not just put it on PSN to promote the game to a much wider audience?
