Ken Levine lists favorite games again, changes mind on a few
Ken Levine plays video games. Shocking, we know! Speaking with IndustryGamers, Levine, who is currently working on a super-secret project, listed his ten favorite games. Occupying the top five spots in descending order are: World of Warcraft, Civilization, Beyond Good & Evil, Ultima Underworld and Company of Heroes.
Back in 2007, Levine produced a similar list for MSNBC. His top five have apparently shifted in the last two years, though, as Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past have fallen even beyond the BioShock developer's top ten. How hast these games forsaken thee, Ken? What hast they done for thou to banish them from thy heart likest so?

God forbid the man should enjoy the current greatest MMO on the market.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad.

After sinking 900 hours into WoW, I believe I do have the authority to say that, yes, it is bad. It's addictive, bad, and it's few redeeming qualities don't excuse it's poor gameplay, and other failings.
If that's the best MMO, then the genre is a failure.

Read the blog entry and you might know.
"Back in 2007, Levine produced a similar list for MSNBC. His top five have apparently shifted in the last two years, though, as Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past have fallen even beyond the BioShock developer's top ten. "
You failed your reading check. Have a friend introduce to Wikipedia while you're at it.

@ Bbob - man you really told that nub!!!
Easy chief, you could of easily explained in a shorter reply without ranting you're intelligence.
Remember the old quote "arguing on the internet is like the special Olympics - even if you win, you're still restarted."

I typed three lines. The rest was a copy+paste of the article. You must really question yourself if three lines requires a shorter reply.

Sorry, that was too long again with three lines.
Better?

This man has a pretty good taste in games.
BunnySlapper @ Oct 28th 2009 12:49PM
Shouldn't Bioshock be in his top five?

How often do music artists list themselves as their favorite musician to listen to?
Working with things you know all the ins and outs, the technical details, where you had to cutback, etc. It probably didn't turn out exactly the way you envisioned it. It also makes you look pompous. Other games have mystery about them. There's is the allure of the unknown, sometimes even a bewilderment factor when it's so far off your logic scale as to how deep or immense it is. That's why I imagine he has stuff like Might & Magic on there. Technically today it's no good, but when he first experienced it I bet he was blown away. You can't really blow yourself away if you made the thing from the ground up.
But... that's just my outsiders view. You'd have to ask Ken.

Beyond Good & Evil was a great game, but I certainly wouldn't put it in my top 5. But he's entitled to his opinion, so I'll shut up now.
