Nolan North imagines Hugh Jackman starring in Uncharted film

Who's going to play Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted movie? Well, don't expect Nolan North to reprise the role for the silver screen. In spite of his stellar performance in the games, North knows he's not big enough to headline a big budget film like Uncharted. "I've done film and television and I understand the reality of the business," North said on the OPM UK podcast.

The frontrunner for the role for Nathan appears to be X-Men star Hugh Jackman. "Jackman is who I'd like to see. I think the producers would like to see Jackman too, because he has that tough guy exterior," North explains. But, Jackman can bring more than just muscles to the character. "There's also a lot going on behind his eyes. A lot of emotion and sensitivity on that brusque exterior, and he has great comic timing."

Oh, and he can sing and dance, too. Just in case we needed a musical featuring Nate and the gang.

really Tom? I love firefly as much as the next guy, probably more, i spent 200 dollars on a Jayne halloween costume, but we couldnt even keep the show running, let alone get The Dark Knight level ticket sales

Fully, completely, and passionately agree that it should be Nathan Fillion. If not him, then the actor that portrays his voice. He looks like Nate Drake anyway, and he's definitely got the chops.

Nathan Fillion looks similar enough, sounds similar enough, and is simply a much better fit to the character of Nathan Drake. I just can't imagine Hugh Jackman pulling off the one-liners and the light/humorous side that Nathan drake has. This is one of those situations where the money-making decision is simply not the "best decision".

What about Chris Pine? He looks the part more than Hugh Jackman, he's now a huge up and coming star thanks to Star Trek, he's the proper age (unlike Fillion who is a little too old to play Drake) and Nathan Drake is pretty similar in character to Cpt. Kirk so we know he would fit the role

I don't think Nathan Fillian has the voice or the face to match what Drake gives in the game. I believe Hugh Jackman has more the face and build. All that's missing is the voice, which I'm sure he can do as most movies he's hiding his Austrailian accent.

Right, because Jackman did SO well in his last role.

To be fair though, I suppose it wasn't completely his fault (writers, director, etc).

And on the other hand, I would be more likely to see an Uncharted movie that *did* feature Nolan North than one that didn't. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Whoever plays Drake really needs to be able to pull off the stunt work that would be necessary to properly play him so the movie doesn't compensate by becoming a CGI crapfest

I'd like to add my support for Nathan Fillion. Drake looks very, very similar to Fillion and has the "Malcom Reynolds" attitude already. It'd work well.

Hugh Jackman doesn't do the 3/4 tuck, he does the 9999/10000 tuck.

dave navarro is actually kinda looks like uncharted's navarro (http://uncharted.wikia.com/wiki/Atoq_Navarro). i still think johnny depp would be a better fit though.

I vote for Bradley Cooper for the role for Nathan Drake.

I have always thought that Chris Pine would be an awesome Drake. His role as Kirk in Star Trek is very similar to Drake.

He just needs darker hair and more stubble.

Maybe Fillion - whom I like a lot - but honestly, North is Drake. He's defined the character and it wouldn't be the same to see someone else in the role.

Looks fine to me (no, not in that way).

Seriously - not only is he suited physically, but all of his emoting and facial expressions would be spot on because they are already used in the game through facial mo-cap.

The man simply is the character - no reason to go to anyone else.

I support Hugh Jackman as Nathan Drake. What Nolan North said was right. Nathan Fillian just doesn't have the balls to be Nathan Drake. I feel that Jackman would do more justice to the character over all.

Ed Harris as Roman?

Really, for the movie to be acceptable, I think you'd almost HAVE to have North as the main character. Granted, The General Public wouldn't notice, but it would be annoying to hear someone else delivering lines.
