Of Wolf and Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica on iPhone
Tapulous, a company specializing in games for the iPhone, has added another to its ranks: Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica. The game is available right now in the App Store and fuses the band with the established Tap Tap Revenge experience, allowing gamers to poke their iPhone through some of the band's most famous ditties such as "One" and "Enter Sandman" -- with ten total tracks available.
The new edition also sports some added functionality over its regular ol' boring Tap Tap Revenge counterparts: Aside from the usual career mode, there's now a more fast-paced arcade mode where players are "challenged with bombs and other special objects" and a new Bluetooth battle mode that lets players challenge others -- granted you're within the appropriate distance of each other -- to see who's the better iPhone-screen-poker.
For those diehard Metallica fans who aren't satisfied with an entire game themed around the band, the title also has other features that allow one tostalk be more in tune (sorry!) with the band's current activities -- including a news ticker and a live message board.

This is way too sad and pathetic.

Sweet! Metallica's awesome! Uooh Yeah! Too bad I don't have an iPhone.

Which leads to the question of the day:
How many Metallica fans have an iPhone?
Judging by what the usual Metallica fan looks like and works at, I'm guessing it's somewhere around the 0.03 percentile.

@captainplanet
You'd be surprised, apparently they were the most requested band to get on Tap Tap.

That metallica is a pretty cool guy eh sells out and doesn't afraid of anything.
DinnyHoon @ Oct 28th 2009 5:51AM
How to sell out with as little dignity as possible:
1: Kill Napster
2: Whore your name and work to every medium possible
3: Repeat 2 until dead

Well, at least they're a far cry from putting KISS out of business.
CloudStrife @ Oct 28th 2009 6:56AM
Awesome. Anyone know the full track list? Is there any Kill Em All or Ride The Lightning on there?
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 28th 2009 7:39AM
Well I came in here when there was only 8 comments, and to no surprise every internet cliche complaint about Metallica was fulfilled in about 5 of those. It's pretty sad most of you still aren't over something that happened 10 years ago, when you can still pirate music pretty easily if you want to.
Someone try and tell me why having a small app on your iphone to play classic Metallica songs to is a bad thing. Is it because Megadeth or whatever current crappy metal band you like isn't big enough to get one of their own?
lego91994 @ Oct 28th 2009 8:07AM
I couldn't agree more, all the hate is really unfounded. This looks like alot of fun, and its only $5.
DinnyHoon @ Oct 28th 2009 8:22AM
@tmac (just in case the reply system cocks up)
The point of hatred towards 'tallica for the way they got rid of Napster is that they came out sounding genuinely worried about the future of the record industry. Now that they're licensing their names/likenesses/whatever to anyone who can afford it, they've shown that all they ever cared about was getting every single penny, despite being collectively richer than the baby Jesus. On the flipside, everyone on the Internet loves Trent Reznor and Radiohead for their blase attitude towards filesharing and piracy.Sure, it's as shallow and pathetic as most other allegiances in this world, but the opinions are here to stay.
And for Christ's sake, a $5 Metallica iPhone app based on a game that was once free? Come on, even you've got to admit that it's gone a bit too far now.
deaftly (PSN,LIVE,STEAM) @ Oct 28th 2009 8:56AM
Lars is a douche and Metallica hasn't released anything worth listening to in over 10 years.
koehler83 @ Oct 28th 2009 9:25AM
Without any comment on the music, the game sucks.
Oh look! A comment about the GAME on a game site.
Novel.

Come on Joystiq. Can't even get the song list of Metallica's own website?
