I tried playing it, but found it INCREDIBLY boring, couldn't stand playing more than a couple of hours. Maybe I'll give it a try later, I read in some sites it gets better after the first disc, but a whole disc of boredom is not exactly something to look forward to :T

Welcome to Mediocre Town, population Blue Dragon. The voice acting is physically painful to listen to.

Which voice acting would you say is worse? This, Oblivion, or FO3?

Fallout 3 had better voice acting than Oblivion. At least in Fallout, the beggars didn't suddenly sound like a king when asked something.

Nathan - I do agree w/ you there. FO3 does have much better voice acting. It is amusing how in Oblivion the beggar goes from "Can you spare a coin?" to sounding like a king as you said.

yea i liked the first one on 360. actually i haven't finished yet but it's ok when u get deep into it. it is pretty generic though so i could understand someone getting bored with it. typical turn based JRPG really.

Only 360. Mistwalker wants nothing to do with PS3. They've said it many times before.

I think they are 360 exclusive. mind you, this was in the good old days of 2006 when, as per 360 owners, FF was crap and Mistwalker with its collection of superstar RPG developers was going to dethrone FF. After the dreadful sales of Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon (both sold less than half that of commercial "failures" such as LBP and Killzone 2), they may change their tune and develop for a system where gamers play something other than crap generic shooters

Microsoft has a bit of money in Mystwalker, so seeing a Mystwalker game on the PS3 might happen, but not any time soon. Also, Blue Dragon is a Microsoft IP, so that's a franchise that's never going to be on a Sony system.

What I REALLY want to see from Mystwalker is a new Lost Odyssey game... I'd love them to build that franchise over the Blue Dragon games. Lost Odyssey is one of the best games I've played this generation and my personal favorite JRPG ever.

Those games didn't sell well because they were both tremendously average, not because 360 fans don't like RPG's.

You know, I kind of feel bad for lumping Lost Odyssey in with Blue Dragon. Lost Odyssey was actually a pretty good game. I think it just came out at a time when the 360 didn't yet have a reputation for having anything other than shooters, leading to low public knowledge of it. They should have advertised more, probably.

Blue Dragon, on the other hard... Bleh....

Microsoft owns the Blue Dragon IP, so it can technically be on anything Microsoft wants, buuuut I somehow do not see them putting it on the PlayStation 3.

I would really love a new Xbox 360 Blue Dragon though, the series has a lot of potential IMO, the only thing that held back the first game was because Artoon cannot develop their way out of ... Something that is easy to develop out of.

Totally. Would be better if all the guys had HUEG MUSCELES and had guns and all the girls had HUEGE Tits. That would make it mature.

Akira Toriyama is a fucking hack.

Meh to all the hate. I enjoyed Blue Dragon and Blue Dragon Plus. They weren't amazing or anything, but they were solid titles nonetheless. I'll pick this one up.

I hope Mistwalker does a new 360 RPG like Lost Odyssey, though, or perhaps a sequel.

Sadly Akira Toriyama hasn't designed a character in like 20 years now. These are just chibi rehashes of Dragon Ball Z characters with a few palette and head swaps.

That's strange, if I remember correctly he made (drew up) another manga about some demon boy a good number of years back.

...I'm pretty sure that wasn't 20 years ago...

Considering the sheer lack of variety in the character designs in the one shot above, yes, Akira Toriyama is a fucking hack. I mean seriously, is this for Blue Dragon or Sandlands or even DraQue? Does HE even fucking know anymore? I bet when working on this game he has a simple formula to riddle this shit out.

"Is the main icon character a slime?"
"No, then is the main icon a bubble tank?"
"Damn, wrong again. Is it a pile of crap holding a spear?
"Yes, okay... I'm working on Blue Dragon right now. All right."
