I think the bigger question is:

Where am I going to stuff that GIGANTIC stylus?!?!?! 0_o

I was wondering that too. You'd think with the device being so big there's be a slot for it ( as there's more empty space in the case), but I don't see one.

Knowing me I'd probably accidentally write with the ink tip on the screen by accident if they did that.

I know one place where you can shove it...

...the holder built into the DSi XL. But if there isn't one, you're "fucked."

It has both a small stylus (that slides into the case) as well as the larger, more pen-like one.

So most likely, the larger one has no storage space on the DSi XL itself.

I bought a dsi and I have to say its not a bad idea to make a big one, but i still think i'd rather have a smaller one because that thing is pretty big and probably wouldn't be able to even fit in my pocket anymore. :(

Between this and the PSP 4000 news (and PSP2 news) this is getting very annoying, very fast. Enough already. I know they're not making us buy this stuff, but I'm really hating this whole Appleish mentality of releasing new hardware every year (or less).

I understand your mentality, and can sympathize, though i find this case much more forgiveable because it's not meant to be an "upgrade" at all, merely an alternative, specifically targeted at one demographic.

And a Lite is just a DS but smaller, and a DSi is just a DS Lite with two cameras and no GBA slot, and a ... ugh, I could go on. Don't even get me started with the PSP-*000's. They don't even look different. Now we can't even have a handheld out for a month before we hear of the next iteration. So that's what I'm pissed off about. I'm sick of companies selling me "the latest and greatest" without sticking by it for more than a year before replacing it.

I guess I'm old fashioned and remember a better day when handhelds were around for several years without any changes to them as there was no need. A handheld shouldn't have 4+ versions of itself in so little time.

Apart from the fact they aren't not supporting the older models. Its not like the DSi plays different games. You don't HAVE to upgrade either, same with the PSP1000, loads of people actually prefer it. I know you feel like your being screwed over by the company, but they are just trying to sell more, and make what they are selling a bit more appealing to the customer. Also if this is how you feel about games consoles, then don't ever buy a car. :P

At least those older units run the newest software. Apple royally screwed first-gen Touch owners by not enabling most of the devices features, then by blocking us from downloading an ever-increasing number of apps. Even though the Touch's HW is superior to the oldest iPhone.

You may be waiting a bit, as that likely doesn't exist. No way is Nintendo letting their contractors leak information like that, not at least until well after the product has been finalized.

Yeah I can understand that, my dad is in his 50's loves RPG's and I have a few on DS, but he can't see em clearly because the screen is too small... if they made a netbook sized machine it would probably sell to people like him.

I wouldnt buy it cause the resolution would suck, but I also wouldnt be their target audience.

It's also for gamers with bigger hands, pockets and Wallets.

But this is what I asked for a larger scale DSi. (too bad the name stinks) I never thought they would do something this great. (I feel like a Windows 7 commercial.) I will probably save up for the DSi 3XLT and Golden Sun DS. (3XLT is the size of my shirts... 3X=three extra large, L=Extra Long, T=Extra Tall)

I'm not Giant_Gamer in name only. Now please give me 1.2x scale Wii motes & accessories, So I can play my Wii for more than 30 minutes at a time.

It's a sign of bigger things to come?

I remember when the DS Lite came out and its selling point was that it was SMALLER. Now we've got the DSi XL and its selling point is that it's BIGGER.

I'm so confused.

For some reason I'd love to have this in a Yoshi green color. I just got my DS Lite from my wife on Valentines Day this year, but I will consider getting this one also depending on the price...as well as depending on how broke I am @ that particular time.

Yeah that's understandable. My wife & I are in quite a money crunch right now & with needing some cash fast I was VERY RELUCTANTLY considering selling it. Not because I wanted to, but because we just need(ed) the cash. Thankfully I still have it. Needless to say she won't let me sell it. One of the reasons being that she bought me a black DS Lite for my birthday about 2 years ago but we had to have the money so she returned it. :-(

My DS is one of my fav systems & I look forward to adding many more games to my collection. I currently only have 8 DS games: Contact, My Personal Trainer Cooking (part of an agreement between my wife & I LOL), My Japanese Coach, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Bleach Blade of Fate, Ultimate Mortal Kombat (the AI is cheap), Contra 4.

They made this to grab more segments of the market that wanted to get a bigger screen and then to get those who compulsively buy each of there new variants to fork over some money again.
