What in the fuck were they thinking when they released the Clank demo first? No one cares about Clank gameplay. And no matter how many times they try to mix it up is that ever going to change.

I've been playing the game and the Clank gameplay is pretty fun this time. I still like playing as Ratchet more, since he can fly around in space explorin shit but the Clank portions are much better than they usually are.

Why is he downvoted, it's true. If they took out the clank gameplay nobody would have cared. I like Clank as a wisecracking little robot on my back, I've never really cared about playing as him.

guys, we aren't 14 anymore, you don't have to downvote people for not wanting to play a kiddie game. go get unchartered, demon souls and borderlands those are mature games for us MATURE people.

What? That's not what either of us were saying. I love Ratchet and Clank, and I assume he at the least enjoys it. We're just saying the Clank segments aren't as fun as the Ratchet segments. Dismissing it as a "kiddie" game is amazingly ignorant.

ive tried to be 'macho' and call R&C a kids game franchise, which of course it is great for kids, but the game is just to fun me to just call it a kids game. i am 27 and there are just some games that are really meant for everyone and they dont come around that often.
sorta like a great pixar or animated movie IMO.
:)
its ok to not like the game, but to just call it a kids game is your opinion and not mine. :)

and btw i haven't enjoyed playing as clank either, but haven't bought the new game yet.

The reason they put out the Clank demo first was so that people (like yourself) could see how much they had changed that part of the game.

Developers do usually listen to the people who buy their games you know, so don't base this game on Tools of Destruction base it on what it is....a new game.

I don't really like how Sony handles the PSOne games. They tend to have a great update one week (Oddworld) and then the next week there is crap or nothing. I realize that digital distribution of these titles may be difficult, but my gut tells me that Sony has it handled better than they have let on in the past, and just go by whatever schedule they come up with.

I know, it sucks that Japan has a crap load of PSOne titles, and we don't. I know I can buy them from over there, but I would like to transfer them to my PSP without having to change accounts associated with my PSP. I would like to have those titles under my main account.

Crystal Defenders.

PSP Go launches, and SE offers minimal support. We yearn for Dissidia, Crisis Core, hell, even the FF1 and 2 remakes. What do we get?

Crystal Defenders.

Thanks square, yeah, that's what we wanted.

The good news is that it's already been released in Japan, so it can't be more than a few months away from hitting the States. At least that's what happened with FFVII.

Doesn't $40 seem a little insane for Hasbro Family Game Night?

I played a bunch of those games as a kid, might of considered getting it at, say $20, just for the nostalgia. Does anyone like Sorry that much?

It's just as expensive on XBLA, too... and I don't know about PSN, but XBLA had it broken out. There was the core game that held it all together, then each individual game had to be bought separately.

Ratchet & Clank Future: ACiT is easily my choice for GOTY. Best R&C game since Up Your Arsenal. ToD and Q4B were both such a let down after playing them in september for the first time, it was the same old game with weapons that felt old and boring but this game actually has it all. Great story telling, new gameplay mechanics while staying true the series and some really amazing weapon mods and new weapons. This is the best game I've played on the PS3 so far even better than Uncharted 2.

Tell me about it. The clank demo, which is the same size, took my ps3 5 hours to download while my 360 downloaded Gay Tony (1.8-1.9gb) in about 20 minutes. That's a big reason why I try to avoid downloading demos on ps3 unless they're exclusives.

I'm not looking forward to the day when I buy and download Siren on PSN, which is something like 9gb. Better set a whole day aside to download it :(

with Siren cant you just download the first few episodes and then background download the others while playing?

or is it more expensive doing it by chapter?

I'm lucky to have my PS3 hooked up through an external wireless switch (gets better range, and I use it with my 360 as well), so it runs through the Ethernet port instead. It shouldn't take more than an hour and a half to download. Still a while.

I'm not sure but I think it's cheaper to just buy the whole thing, like $5 or so. But yeah if you did it by chapter bundles then the others could background download while you play the 1.

The thing that confuses me with my speeds is that both my ps3/360 use the same wireless and they're close to each other. Maybe it's just the better infrastructure of xbox live. I've heard from wii owners who say even the wii downloads faster than ps3 which is kinda sad. I'll find out after christmas if that's true or not.

and please, let's not have a major fanboy come in and start a debate. speeds are different for different people. slow PSN download speeds are pretty common. in my case, the speeds are fine, but i have a friend who is on the same service as me and lives like 3 miles away from me, and his speeds are MUCH slower on PSN.

My speeds have always been pretty good, but it probably depends on where you live at, and the nearest server.

@T-Mac

Have you configured your Nat Type on the PS3? I'm not sure it has anything to do with infrastructure since it's not an issue that effects everyone. Seems pretty intermittent. Oddly enough our Wii seems to download stuff pretty slow ... never tested anything but just doing the system updates takes a while and it usually
never finishes without messing up at least 4-5x.

I never had any speed issues when I had the 360 either ... again, not sure any of that is helpful since it seems intermittent with everyone.

You need to setup change some settings and you can configure your PS3 to be as fast as your 360.

NAT/Port Forwarding: (best solution)
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=killzone2&thread.id=305580

QOS (Boost your PS3's priority on your network)
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=psnetwork&message.id=297137

Some people have had success using a Proxy server - including Vidikron (requires additional computer)
http://www.psu.com/forums/showthread.php?s=64b7578fb055a5fecc476a2024ec53a2&t=190858

Luckily for me the type of router I have automatically configured correctly and I've never had slow download speeds. But, the problem is more than likely with the configuration and not the PS3 itself since you've said the 360 is zippy fast.

Might as well join this download party.

Im on Virgin Media 10MB and use WiFi on my PS3, and i have no problems with my download speeds, R&C:ACiT Ratchet Demo downloaded in 30 minutes for me. (also, i did speedtest.net on my PS3 browser and got a 7-MB download)

Maybe its just a US problem, eh?

I actually don't have to use the proxy any more. I had one set up and used it during big downloads for a few months. It worked fantastic. My download speeds skyrocketed. Then one day I forgot to enable the proxy before starting a download and noticed my speeds were going fast. Not sure why the slowness suddenly went away, but I get great speeds now.

But, tmac, I'd highly recommend you give the proxy a shot for big downloads. When I used to have the slow downloads using the proxy made the downloads as fast or faster than XBL. I downloaded the clank demo a week ago in about 20 minutes. All you need is a computer on your LAN with a static IP. It takes 5 minutes to set up and then you can enable/disable the proxy on your PS3 in seconds. It saves the setting even after you disable it... so the next time you want to use it all you have to do is re-enable it in the network settings.

Is it more common on PSN that a demo will release after the game is already available? I was just looking for a Fat Princess demo the other night and didn't see one. Was the same way with Critter Crunch which I bought before the demo was out. XBLA seems like the demos are always first.
