I understand that my college MTSU wouldn't be on there, even though we are the biggest school in Tennessee, but why is Notre Dame not on there.

Yeah, their selection is pretty scattershot. I can see Georgia Tech not being there, and understand FSU and the U for ACC, but UVA over VT? And Clemson?

Seems to me they did some market research along the lives of "Name some colleges." Well of COURSE schools that are "University of XXX" would show, as all you have to say is the state, and you named the university. Of the 30 schools available, 14 of them are "University of STATE."

Don't know where they got that "top 30" names from. #6 and #9 on CLC's most recent list aren't there...

I agree with Deezul. Top 30 in what? In most money raked in on sales? Why do two of the NCAA Football top 5 teams only have shoes available?

UCLA just keeps on making money. Wonder how much Microsoft paid them for that image of Royce Hall.

Hey Hermes. For the record, UCLA's not getting a dime - although, yes, Royce Hall was selected for prominent placement as the background of this area of the Avatar Marketplace, chosen for best characterizing the visuals of a traditional American university.

Now If you'd bothered to take a look at the "University Collection" before you commented, you'd see that UCLA isn't even listed as one of the 30 Avatar Marketplace NCAA branded downloadables. Yes, that's right. UCLA's not even listed so branded Avatar apparel isn't available for purchase. And that's where the money comes from based on licensing usage.

Of course USC's got their logo up there along with Cal and Arizona.

Well, I don't see Northern Arizona University, but I'm sure that's just because they're spending extra time to code that Lumberjack Ax prop.... right?

I agree, no OU? I know that they have not performed well this year but not many have comparatively to last year). It does appear that a lot of them are dynasty teams (teams that continue to sell merch and tix (Nebraska has sold out every home game for decades) despite performance (ND being the main one that jumps out). Could just be that this was all they were able to get rights for right now and may expand depending on success of this.

And the selection for each school is different. Penn State has shoes and a hat, but others have much more. Hopefully expansions will show up. I'll be the first to deck myself out in Georgia Tech stuff.

And EA managed to get gamer pics and themes very soon after one of the NCAA football games came out, so hopefully it's only a matter of time.

Umm, I never said it was. I was just making the point that when EA DID have individual school gear, it was almost all of the Division I schools, not just a "Top 30" selection.

I was kinda surprised to see Mich State make the list for the first pass, but it made me think, why do they actually charge different amounts of points for the different articles? Really, was the hoodie that much harder to re-render in different colors than the T-Shirt was? http://screencast.com/t/FThfRMqU

More clothing in the hoodie, so naturally it costs more. That's why the jackets cost $4. They are thicker and warmer. So in June & July, the jackets will be on sale.

I'm assuming that licensing deals with individual universities has a lot to do with which are available. That is the only reason I could imagine University of Arizona being available and not Arizona State, since ASU is the largest university in the country (therefore more potential customers).

I imagine more will be available once individual licensing deals are worked out.

Wow you're defensive. All I was commenting on was the picture of Royce Hall. I wasn't "bothered" to look at the avatar clothing because I'm not interested in the clothing; I was merely commenting on the backdrop photo of UCLA. Please stay on topic.

And how do you know UCLA isn't getting a dime? Are you on the ASUCLA committee? They control the brand image of UCLA and if there isn't monetary compensation for use the image, then there's probably something else (or at least that's my speculation). Whether that means an XBOX branded event at UCLA or future installments of UCLA clothing on avatars I know not.
