Seems like these buy 2, get 1 free sales are all the rage these days, as Target has just announced it will be hosting one starting November 1. Unlike the recent sales from Amazon, Toys R Us and Best Buy, Target's sale applies only to Wii games, though it's worth noting that it does apply to all of them. As Wii games tend to be significantly cheaper than 360 and PS3 games, this might be a good deal for the early holiday shoppers out there.
Target is also offering a deal on Band Hero starting November 3 and running through next week. Those that pick up any version of the Band Hero bundle ($199) will get a free $20 gift card along with it. That should be just enough to buy supplies for the Taylor Swift party you will no doubt be forced to throw.

I remember when I went to Target a few weeks ago looking for Demon's Souls and saw the Wii isle. They had hardly anything decent at all, it was mostly shovelware.

Go to a Gamestop and the better Wii games are usually on the bottom in the lined-up sideways section most people don't look through.
At a Target you mostly find the better Wii games in tiny doses and actually have to look through a lot to find something good --- some Targets have all the worth-having games in one case and the "FAMILY" games in another case.
At a Walmart, they're spread out, but usually only a tad fewer compared to the shovelware (then again, their Wii section is usually significantly smaller compared to the other sections... at least to the ones I've been to).
At a Costco, don't even bother. There's like... ONE good game there.
At a Play N Trade, you find a better selection, but usually you see that half of the games you want are NEVER there, and when you ask the cashier - they usually don't know what you're talking about or say that you'll have to wait 'til next week (and they'll say the same thing next week).
...I have no idea how a Toys R Us selection is, I never go there.
I go to Game Dude. Best choice, I say (other than just finding it online). But unless you live in SoCal, that thing doesn't exist at all in all other areas of the world. ... and no, they don't sell online - they don't even update their site.

I can't think of many good Wii games I don't have yet (I mean that as a compliment, as I think my Wii collection is over 40 games now). Deadly Creatures is the only thing to come to mind right now...
And like Tmac said, Target's selection of games ain't great.

Oh, how original. While you're at it, why not talk about how the PS3 is 599 US Dollars or 360 = RRoD? Or, hell, why not bring up Sega does what Nintendon't?

Probably because it's Genesis does what Nintendon't...

Hm, my mistake on that one. I thought "Genesis" was only used in the rebuttal: Nintendo is what Genesisn't.

Ah, fair enough. Sorry for that, thought it was a cheap stab at the Wii... when it was a jab at Target. Just tired of dumb remarks towards any system, 'tis all.

Target does have really good clearance prices from time to time. Of course this varies from store to store as some stores may have a game on clearance & the one across town may not. You would think all stores would clearance out merch @ the same time if it isn't selling. Or maybe that's it. Some items are still selling in some stores & not others.
One deal I wish I had the money for recently was Madworld for $13. They had 2 or 3 copies. Sadly I was broke @ the time.
Most target stores do have a decent selection of older PS2 & DS games. Moreso DS. I might pick up Ninja Gaiden sometime for $15. Is it worth the purchase?

I got madworld at Fry's for $9.99 a while ago. When I was done playing it, got a trade in value of $10 from amazon. Sweet deal.

I think this sale is saying, "we have too many worthless Wii games, please take them away."
Besides, if stores don't get rid of the crappy Wii games they have now, how will they make room for the crappy Wii games they'll get during the holiday season?

I hate how each version of the deal became less appealing though. The TRU version allowed all games and accesories. Amazon allowed certain games from all consoles and handhelds. Best Buys version only allowed the three consoles, and now target is only for the Wii.
