Buy 2 Wii games, get 1 free at Target starting Nov. 1
Seems like these buy 2, get 1 free sales are all the rage these days, as Target has just announced it will be hosting one starting November 1. Unlike the recent sales from Amazon, Toys R Us and Best Buy, Target's sale applies only to Wii games, though it's worth noting that it does apply to all of them. As Wii games tend to be significantly cheaper than 360 and PS3 games, this might be a good deal for the early holiday shoppers out there.
Target is also offering a deal on Band Hero starting November 3 and running through next week. Those that pick up any version of the Band Hero bundle ($199) will get a free $20 gift card along with it. That should be just enough to buy supplies for the Taylor Swift party you will no doubt be forced to throw.

That reminds me, none of you guys have RSVP'ed for my Taylor Swift party. What the hell? Well, I don't wanna hear any bitching when we run out of hot dogs!
Marius @ Oct 30th 2009 10:08PM
wtf are you talking about
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 10:14PM
Who the hell is Taylor Swift?
nofriendo @ Oct 30th 2009 10:18PM
I'm gonna be the guy who puts your barbecue in the pool.

I'm gonna be the guy who leaves with his woman.
Gonna be sweet.

I'll be the guy who sets the place on fire. And then dance around, giggling.
Good times.

This is why we can't have nice things.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 10:13PM
Band Hero bundle...that costs as much as the fricking system.
Smooth, Activision.
Autobot (Now with Vitamin D)! @ Oct 30th 2009 10:31PM
You won't miss out on anything. You're better off buying Rock Revolution.
Obie @ Oct 30th 2009 10:15PM
Man, these buy two get one free deals are pretty awesome, they better keep it up around Thanksgiving so I can get some sweet deals.
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 30th 2009 10:18PM
I remember when I went to Target a few weeks ago looking for Demon's Souls and saw the Wii isle. They had hardly anything decent at all, it was mostly shovelware.
Mr Khan @ Oct 30th 2009 10:26PM
Wherever i go, it seems to me that they at least group all the proper shovelware together, usually (unless they're doing an alphabetical thing)
Makes it a bit easier. But i never, ever window-shop for games. I know what i want.
SoshiKitai @ Oct 31st 2009 2:20AM
Go to a Gamestop and the better Wii games are usually on the bottom in the lined-up sideways section most people don't look through.
At a Target you mostly find the better Wii games in tiny doses and actually have to look through a lot to find something good --- some Targets have all the worth-having games in one case and the "FAMILY" games in another case.
At a Walmart, they're spread out, but usually only a tad fewer compared to the shovelware (then again, their Wii section is usually significantly smaller compared to the other sections... at least to the ones I've been to).
At a Costco, don't even bother. There's like... ONE good game there.
At a Play N Trade, you find a better selection, but usually you see that half of the games you want are NEVER there, and when you ask the cashier - they usually don't know what you're talking about or say that you'll have to wait 'til next week (and they'll say the same thing next week).
...I have no idea how a Toys R Us selection is, I never go there.
I go to Game Dude. Best choice, I say (other than just finding it online). But unless you live in SoCal, that thing doesn't exist at all in all other areas of the world. ... and no, they don't sell online - they don't even update their site.
BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] @ Oct 30th 2009 10:24PM
I can't think of many good Wii games I don't have yet (I mean that as a compliment, as I think my Wii collection is over 40 games now). Deadly Creatures is the only thing to come to mind right now...
And like Tmac said, Target's selection of games ain't great.
Bobby Kotick 2: Echoes @ Oct 30th 2009 10:41PM
Band Hero bundle set at $199.99? Who the fuck comes up with these prices?
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 10:42PM
I don't know, Bobby. Who ever could it be?
/sarcasm.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 10:47PM
Who ever it is, he's gotta be an incredibly self-centered, cockblocking douchebag.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 10:45PM
Well...if I owned a Wii...or had a Target in town...
Fernando Rocker @ Oct 30th 2009 10:52PM
Well... I finally will pick Punch-Out, Muramasa, and Wii Sports Resort.
Maybe I could use a game as a placeholder... I want New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
MRLN (The Comment God) @ Oct 30th 2009 11:19PM
Luckily, there are only 3 or four Wii games to get.
NintendoJunkie @ Oct 30th 2009 11:46PM
Especially considering Target's selection.
BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] @ Oct 31st 2009 12:19AM
Oh, how original. While you're at it, why not talk about how the PS3 is 599 US Dollars or 360 = RRoD? Or, hell, why not bring up Sega does what Nintendon't?
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 31st 2009 12:50AM
Probably because it's Genesis does what Nintendon't...
BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] @ Oct 31st 2009 1:00AM
Hm, my mistake on that one. I thought "Genesis" was only used in the rebuttal: Nintendo is what Genesisn't.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 31st 2009 1:48AM
Is it sad that I had this bookmarked?

I kinda meant Target seems to enjoy supplying really old good games or shovelware. I can't find Little King's Story or Zack and Wiki in there.
BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] @ Oct 31st 2009 4:57PM
Ah, fair enough. Sorry for that, thought it was a cheap stab at the Wii... when it was a jab at Target. Just tired of dumb remarks towards any system, 'tis all.
NintendoJunkie @ Oct 30th 2009 11:49PM
Target does have really good clearance prices from time to time. Of course this varies from store to store as some stores may have a game on clearance & the one across town may not. You would think all stores would clearance out merch @ the same time if it isn't selling. Or maybe that's it. Some items are still selling in some stores & not others.
One deal I wish I had the money for recently was Madworld for $13. They had 2 or 3 copies. Sadly I was broke @ the time.
Most target stores do have a decent selection of older PS2 & DS games. Moreso DS. I might pick up Ninja Gaiden sometime for $15. Is it worth the purchase?
CaramelZappa @ Oct 31st 2009 1:34AM
I got madworld at Fry's for $9.99 a while ago. When I was done playing it, got a trade in value of $10 from amazon. Sweet deal.
BigD145 @ Oct 31st 2009 1:19PM
Most of the really good games, even ones that have been out for a year+, are still at their original price.
Lurkero @ Oct 31st 2009 12:02AM
I think this sale is saying, "we have too many worthless Wii games, please take them away."
Besides, if stores don't get rid of the crappy Wii games they have now, how will they make room for the crappy Wii games they'll get during the holiday season?
E.J. @ Oct 31st 2009 12:22AM
Target's gotta get rid of all that shovelware somehow.
Extinction @ Oct 31st 2009 5:17PM
If only there were 3 wii games actually worth buying
Gun Barrier @ Nov 1st 2009 5:25PM
I hate how each version of the deal became less appealing though. The TRU version allowed all games and accesories. Amazon allowed certain games from all consoles and handhelds. Best Buys version only allowed the three consoles, and now target is only for the Wii.
TRU is the king of B21F
