Just in time to wring a few more sales out of Call of Duty 4 before Modern Warfare 2 hits the market, Steam is marking the game down to $23.99 through Monday. We're told that's a 40-percent savings, which we're also told is rather considerable. What we know, however, is that Call of Duty 4 is an excellent electronic game cartridge, and it's easily worth the scratch. And seriously, at this point, there are approximately only twelve people that haven't played it.
So, we'd just like to congratulate Steam in advance for the $287.88 it will rake in this weekend.

It's been out for almost two years hasn't it?
The price should be way lower than that.

My grandma and grandpa haven't played it yet so those are two out of the twelve. Who else could be on the list of people who haven't played?

before the stupid questions begin...
287.88 / 23.99 = 12
(this is joystiq, remember)

well played, hedonistic
i sort of want to pick this up, sold my 360 version, apparently there are a lot of custom maps on pc?
but how is the game overall on pc(aside from the obvious controller vs keyboard mouse)
are there a lot of hackers? or the level of glitchiness?
i havent played any serious pc-fps since css.

Just more prove that Activision sucks. The game is more than two years old and they are still selling it at full price.

Guess how much is this "deal" in Europe...
No, it's not $23.99. Not even €23.99...
Its €29.99!!! (more than $40). Nice deal... I think, I'll stay among the people who hasn't played this game yet.

I still won't buy it seeing as I'm pissed at the MW2 and they never did interest me.

Traded it in a while ago for 360, for that price I'll def get it again on steam. Still one of the best games of this gen if not ever.

Some things worth noting:
It's on special for $29.99 US in Australia ($49.99 usually).
If you think that's high (which, considering the age of the game, it is), then try buying Modern Warfare 2 on Steam in Australia... it's $89.99 US dollars. Which is completely ridiculous.
Also worth noting: I'm one of the 12 people who haven't played it, and Ive no intention to buy it now.
In summary? Bobby Kotick is a dick.

See, they are stupid. I wanted a decent multi-player game for my new PC.
MOD:MR was going to be it, expecting a MUCH lower cost for an older game (especially right before release of it's sequel). I would have paid $15 for it, ($10 or less without even thinking about it).
Oh well, time to fire up a bit-torrent client and use private multi-player servers.
Oops, did I say that. (Read in your best Steve Erkle voice).
