Whaddaya mean? they are colors granny and grampy would like. I think they should take a survey to see which colors people would want more, because it happens that sometimes the colors suck.

I'll hold out for a XL - depending on what they say about what games look like on the screens.

As someone with huge hands (I preferred "The Duke" for the original Xbox), I might actually get this. I thought the phat was okay, but I never had the inclination to buy one. I've tried the lite and i in stores, and they seem way to small to me. so this seems to be a good option.

So... was anybody actually asking for this? I mean, people have been asking for a download only PSP, a smaller PSP, and a PSP with built in memory, and they got that with the PSP Go, even if it was an overpriced piece of hardware. But was anybody actually asking for a DS that was that much larger and that much heavier then the DSi? I'm not a DS fan, but I'll admit the size of the Lite and the DSi seems pretty pocketable, and holding both before they seem a pretty acceptable weight.

My guess is if we get sales numbers, we'll know it did alright, and if we don't, then it's a pretty good indication it was a flop. I'm always annoyed about how large my PSP Slim is (which is why I've considered getting a PSP Go or dropping my PSP all together for a Zune HD or iTouch), and I can't imagine having the mentality that an even *larger* handheld is what I need.

Lot's of people actually. People with big hands and people who prefer to hold bigger gaming pieces.

For instance, I have pretty normal sized hands but I prefer holding the Dreamcast controller, the original Xbox controller, or hell even the Saturn Analog controller. Those are perfectly comfortable to me, and I really appreciate the bigger DSi.

Especially that big sexy new stylus. Every single stylus they've made so far has been too small, and they keep making them smaller! I've had to make do with third-party styluses...

...but then it's not a portable system. Well, it may be portable, but it sure as shit isn't pocketable. I'm a relatively big guy with some big hands as well, but the size of a DSi, a PSP Go, or an iTouch for gaming isn't something that has bothered me. It's just something you get used to and are thankful for because the thing can actually fit in your pocket.

I mean, are you gonna play this at home most of the time? Doesn't that defeat the point of a portable? I play my PSP at home sometimes, but mostly I'll break it out on the bus, at school, at a friends house, or some other place that I'd be bringing it to, in my pocket. To each his own I guess, I just don't get that mindset.

As an aside, a PSP Go, a Dualshock 3, a TV, and some video out cables would pretty much solve the small hands problem and still let you carry the thing around in your pocket.

This is the next gen of DSi "http://www.wiinoob.com/nintendo-dsi-lego/", you won't need to play games on it and this nintendo dsi won't need any batteries an extra plus, all you need to do is gather your closest friends and force them to build this for you(whip not included). Don't be a nintendolt and be a ninendoer or something like that...

PSP makes a hardware revision that merely alters the form-factor and doesn't add any further meaningful features = all of Joystiq is in an uproar and ready to tar and feather everyone associated with Sony and proclaim it to be trash, worthless, etc. etc.

Nintendo makes a hardware revision that merely alters the form-factor and doesn't add any further meaningful features = greatest thing since sliced bread, and everyone can't wait to buy it.

funny how that works.

It is great how you worded that. the PSP go does not add any features, but it does take one away: the ability to use UMDs. forcing the user to only use downloadable games, and none of the games they already own.

It would be kind of like if the DSiXL took away the ability to use cartridges, forcing one to only buy games from DSiWare

Grandpa might be able to see it now, but can he remember the name? DSiXL doesn't exactly roll off the tongue!

You know, if it comes with an SD card slot (which doesn't look likely, because no screens show a camera), you would easily be able to store DSiWare onto your old one, then transfer it to the new one.

Well hopefully the resolution is just like the DSi. Anyways, the XL is great for ppl with poor eyesight. Not everyone can see a tiny screen you know.
