Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is slowly absorbing the entire Sega catalog into one mascot racing universe. The latest franchise to be co-opted is The House of the Dead, whose Curien Mansion is revealed as a track in a new, spooky Halloween trailer (after the break). We can't be sure, but we think we also caught glimpses of a zombie appearing both as a driver and a vehicle.
This zombie is the second appearance of the walking dead in All-Stars Racing. The first, of course, is the Shenmue franchise.
You can't hurt me, Joystiq. I'm used to companies not finishing franchises. Shenmue, KotOR, Battlefront, it's all happened already. I don't care anymore. *sniff*.
Have you watched G4 recently? I tried to sit through the Free Running World Championship, but the commercials in between the segments were like a full five minutes!
How sweet of you to ignore all other Sega games to make your point... BTW, only Valkyria Chronicles was made by Sega. There is a slight, but critical distinction.
Their track record is awful collectively and their spin-offs have been even worse. This might be ok in the end and I'm all for hoping for the best out of every game made, but you can't blame everyone for not having faith in the meantime with their collective history.
This game is getting me more and more interested. Hoping we see some third party characters.
And like other's have said why hasn't nintendo done something like this? Rather than mario kart why not something like Super Smash Bros Kart (Shitty name I know just go with it) would be cool to be racing as samus agaisn't mario, link and other Nintendo charcaters.
I'll buy this the day of it's release if a playable "character" is the Daytona USA Gallop car.....I'll settle for the Castrol Celica from Sega Rally :)
Looks interesting but I'll wait for a review or maybe rent it next year. Still if Sega has DLC like characters from its other franchises like maybe Streets of Rage, Nights, Vectorman, Golden Axe, etc even third party companies like Namco's Pacman would be cool.
Because people in the higher-ups debated about this... People originally wanted Sonic to have no car, but... I forgot who it was, complained that it would be unfair.
Not sure in which direction he meant that, but I see it as: If you can bump other characters with your car... bumping into Sonic would just mean running him over.
