Okay, so our initial observation that Uncharted 2 would soon receive skeletal Helghast was a bit far from the truth. Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer recently announced on Playstation.Blog that the half-tucked title would receive an update which addresses a number of multiplayer issues today. On top of that, anyone who plays the game online during this Halloween weekend will receive a treat infinitely more sweet than a fistful of Necco Wafers: Loads and loads of (in-game) cash money.
Yes, the next few days will be a "Double Cash Weekend" for Uncharted 2 multiplayer matches. As you can probably suss out from the title, you'll earn double the rank-progressing moolah you would normally gain for playing the various online playlists. In addition, a bunch of Naughty Dog staffers will be playing this weekend -- presumably appearing as the crimson-eyed, skinless abominations seen above. We appreciate the work these folks have done, but following our strict undead infestation protocols, they must be purged.

Nice. Im only Level 13 since I wanted to beat single player before jumping online. The extra cash will be give me the chance to buy some much needed boosters much much faster.

@tmac - I feel you on that. I usually do quick sprays of bullets using an automatic rifle and the handguns always win. Basically any of the online modes are quick draw fights with pistols!

Hope the double cash works for the various co op modes too, as that's the only part of Uncharted's multiplayer I'll even consider playing.

@8bit
hurr hurr. I would play online if it wasn't a miserable experience and boring in every game. Sorry, not going to play a game where I unload half a clip of M4 bullets into someone then they turn around and 4 shot me with a pistol.

Have you ever been pleased with a game that other people liked?
Elitism sucks dude. And I still don't believe your "I beat the first 3 bosses in demon souls on the first run" crap.

I love uncharted 2's campaign and co op, not regular multiplayer though.
And by the way, it's 4 bosses now. Fool's Idol (3-1) almost killed me a couple times but I got past it. Don't misunderstand, I've died a lot on the various levels, just not on the bosses yet.

I haven't gotten into the multiplayer yet. I beat it for the first time right before Gay Tony came out, but maybe I'll play some this weekend.

Also note that Naughty Dog confirmed Halloween Skins in the comments section on the blog:
ND: "We said there are a lot of things in multiplayer we can adjust on the fly without a download required (like the Halloween skins and Double Cash). There are also some things we can’t without a Title Update."
User: what’s that you say about “Halloween skins” in your reply above? I didn’t read anything about new skins in the announcement…
ND: "Hop into a match, you’ll see! ;)"

i hope they fixed the issue of the turf war problem i saw. Some games there would be games that would go longer then the actual 250 point goal. Also i hope they extend the double points since i dont have access to my ps3 since im out of town.

dude, yes! i love it when games give extra incentives for online play. hopefully they keep doing this, to keep people returning to the game even after MW2 releases. hopefully new co-op missions are in the works, too.

i hate that a lot during the beta. i could run around the maps until shooting at or getting shot by another player, at which point my character would freeze in place before kicking me out of the game. i finally tried a different cable modem, and that somehow eliminated the problem for me entirely. good luck!

Awesome! I've been falling behind on leveling up in multiplayer, now is my chance to catch up. I think i ran into a naughty dog staffer during a match last week. At least I think it was, he was using the marco polo avatar (or maybe it was one of those skeletons?) and had a red paw next to his name, unless you get that for some type of achievement.

does this mean people will actually be playing it online?
Or maybe it's just me cause everytime I go to Multiplayer no matter what mode I pick after about 3minutes of awaiting I get tired of waiting. I've only managed to connect to one Co-op and one Deathmatch.
will have to give it a try after supper.

I'm only on lvl5 myself but I only got the game Wednesday And have been focusing on the Story, on chapter 23 at moment on Hard first playthrough so fiding out the treasures to get em out of the way for Crushing is slow going, some are frigging way out of the way

This may be a stupid question, but is this for Europe too? I just checked and the update wasn't there, so this might not be for us neither. Especially because we don't really have Halloween.

Im sorry but "We dont really have Halloween" is bullcrap. Im in the UK and we sure as shit have Halloween. I havnt played Uncharted 2 since last night (been busy), ill pop on later, but i don't think its an update. In the Developer videos they said they can change everything (maps, costumes, bonuses) without ever needing an update, since its all on THEIR servers.

Well, here in Holland it's not very big, and from what I know that goes for most of Europe. And that's really not the point. And I know this doesn't have to be an update, but there is a patch out besides the extra XP/cash. So...
