First, thank you to everyone who submitted a pumpkin carving for this year's contest -- you rock! Brilliant work. Now, after making many difficult cuts, the Joystiq staff has narrowed down the entries to the ten finalists you see above.

That's what I thought. Until I saw 6. 6 is baddass, congrats to whoever carved it, and I feel it's greatly unappreciated. I mean, most likely, people just looked at the thumbnails- COMPLETELY overlooking the kickass dark (night?) shot with the candle inside it. That Scarecrow was B to the fucking A.

I wanted to vote for the borderlands one, cause I love the game so much, but 5 is just too damn impressive.
And 3 should be disqualified. Not really fair to the others to put that up for voting on Joystiq.

Ditto, but I went with #4.
As amazing as #5 is, something about #4 just seemed really cool. Maybe it was the reddish color, or the fact that it was all carved, and didn't seem like someone drew on it to make it darker, or maybe it was divine intervention...
But yeah, #3 seems to be getting the votes for it's meme-status.
