We're still wrapping our brains around the
DSi XL, the "bigger version of a smaller version of a smaller version of an originally bulky handheld." Surely there must be other examples of macro-miniaturization in technology, but we're hard-pressed to think of any immediately. Just keep an eye on that PS2, though -- the tabloids have been talking that it's looking mighty thin now. Or, perhaps, the
PSP Go will get back that UMD drive.
- Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): Borderlands will be played significantly this weekend, despite the loss of a character due to "corruption." Also, I've discovered Tropico 3 is a wonderful distraction from the cold.
- Andrew Yoon (@scxzor): Did you know I only recently started Uncharted 2? I guess it's okay...
- Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): And suddenly, I have a PS3. I'm catching up on PSN classics (Super Stardust HD is still fantastic, btw) and working on the game that came with my console, Brütal Legend. Hopefully I can rally some Joystiq Firefight members this weekend as well.
- Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): I have a Halloween party to prepare for; with that over, I hope to relax with some Uncharted 2 (multiplayer, anyone?) and some DJ Hero. Scriggity scratch!
- David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): After finishing GOTY Uncharted 2, I'm looking forward to starting up Borderlands and Demon's Souls -- which Amazon is supposed to put in my mailbox some time today. Aside from those, I'm sure I'll sprinkle in some Halo 3 with my usual group of Spartan amigos.
- Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): D (wicki-wicki) D-D-D (wicka) DJ He- (wicka wicki) DJ Hero!
- James Ransom-Wiley: Wiki-wiki-wikee!
- JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): Between random acts of candy distribution, I'll be enjoying some Bionic Commando: Rearmed.
- Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): Now that I've returned to The Greatest Country On Earth, I'll be gorging myself on Brütal Legend and Dragon Age: Origins.
- Kevin Kelly (@gadgetguy): [Birthdayfacating]
- Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'm taking the Path of the Mentor in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. It's quite steep, but not nearly as rocky as it was on the Xbox 360. Sigma 2 has several cool, new additions, but it really excels because they trimmed all the original game's excess. See ya, armadillo twins!
- Randy Nelson (@DangerPenguin) I'm going to keep on doing what I've been doing all week: Making my way through the world (and storylines) of Dragon Age: Origins. It's huuuuge!
- Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM): I just wrapped up MGS4 for the first time ever. It's pretty good, as it turns out. This weekend I will hopefully be digging into the first Uncharted and Demon's Souls. That's assuming GameFly can get me those games by Saturday. Other than that, it will be SingStar during my Halloween party.
- Xav de Matos (@Xav): [Making the 200 kilometer trek across northern Manitoba to the ice float with heat.]
- Justin Glow (@justinglow): (Macro-miniaturizing Joystiq.)

Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 11:03PM
Will those be playable at the party?
WREturns [Planeteer I Power of The Final Countdown] @ Oct 31st 2009 1:23AM
Only if you RSVP.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 11:03PM
Lets see...I'll be playing some Living Dead, as well as Mass Effect, as a way to tide the time until Tuesday, when I get Dragon Age and The Force Unleashed.
Gonna be busy next week.

Catching up on all the PSP games that I never got to check out. At church.
*Gasp.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 11:05PM
Dude, I play Wolfenstein and Doom: Ressurection on my iPod in church all the time.
CaramelZappa @ Oct 30th 2009 11:42PM
Why even go to church then?
Ashitaka @ Oct 30th 2009 11:55PM
@ CaramelZappa
To get your grandparents' allowance? What, you're telling me that's not the reason people go to church?
WREturns [Planeteer I Power of The Final Countdown] @ Oct 31st 2009 1:23AM
Who gets allowance from their grandparents?
Ashitaka @ Oct 31st 2009 10:34AM
It's not allowance, it's like just money.
Money from my grandparents was the only reason I did first communion and chrism x)
Levi @ Oct 31st 2009 11:18AM
What's chrism? Sounds like math
Ashitaka @ Oct 31st 2009 6:30PM
It's like "the thing after first communion". Don't ask what it's about, I just did it due to family pressure.
And I doubt that's the exact name in English, I just used google translator.
Marius @ Oct 30th 2009 11:04PM
Nothing, left my PS3 at home till next weekend
I hate college
GoldN @ Oct 31st 2009 12:51AM
I know the feeling. Without my DS and my laptop I wouldn't survive. So many console games I'm wishing I had with me though...
why not the LS2LS7? @ Oct 30th 2009 11:05PM
Kindle DX. Kindle got smaller from the original, then a lot bigger.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 11:06PM
Oh, wait! That's why they made the DSi XL! They're ripping off Amazon!
Brilliant!
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 30th 2009 11:07PM
Ratchet, Gay Tony, Uncharted 2, Borderlands. I got Mario Kart Wii using the glitch at Best Buy but I can't play it until December :\
Maybe I'll play Demon's Souls if I can fit it in there somewhere. Guess I'll play tomorrow since it's supposed to be a lot harder, seeing as I haven't really had a tough time with it yet. Still a great game though, and even though it's been somewhat easy (still haven't died on a boss yet) it's still putting a strain on me since I've convinced myself it's difficult and I go through levels sooooo slow...expecting things around every corner. I think it took me close to 2 hours to go through 3-1 last night, even though I only died once.
Levi @ Oct 31st 2009 12:24PM
What's the Best Buy glitch?
Also, I've heard Demon's Souls is difficult unless you are paying close attention. I'm guessing a lot of gamers have some ADD or whatever. They all said Mirror's Edge was too hard too. Wussies.
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 31st 2009 12:29PM
The Best Buy glitch was nationwide as far as I know, where the 2nd game scanned out of the three would always be registered as free. So people were buying two Rock Revolutions (one for 360, one for ps3) since those are $5 each, and basically getting a $50-$60 or whatever game they wanted for free.
There were pics on neogaf of someone who bought like 20 rock revolutions and walked away with a ton of new games. Some Best Buy's fixed it but others haven't yet, like mine. However, their sale ends after today.
Mr Mobius - the wandering artist @ Oct 31st 2009 12:54PM
So next month Rock Revolution will be in the NPD and then the month after a sequel will be announced.
Sly @ Oct 31st 2009 2:12PM
thanks tmac! now i can get borderlands and ratchet! i was planning to get them when they dropped in price because of all the good games coming up, but for $20-40 for both, i can't refuse!
waynski1457 @ Oct 30th 2009 11:10PM
Just got a 360 up and running on Monday so I'm still playing catch-up with a bunch of games from the past few months. Finished Batman (almost assuredly will be my personal GOTY), ODST (was decent, and am really enjoying Firefight), and Marvel UA2 (better than I thought it would be, not quite as good as UA1 tho). Also, I just picked up today at BB Borderlands, Gears 2, and Muramasa. I got Muramasa paused as I write this and I'm loving the hell out of it so far.
If anyone wants to play some MP in any applicables here, just FR me on XBL (I'll accept the random FR if you mention that you got it on Joystiq). GT: Monkeyz Rool.
waynski1457 @ Oct 30th 2009 11:13PM
Oh, and I'll try to do some TF2 Halloween, but I haven't really been digging it so far (it doesn't help that I've always been horrible at it). I'm up for some friendly games there too if anyone wants, although I have just about no achievements/unlocks. Steam: waynski1457.
Wayne Campbell @ Oct 31st 2009 1:21AM
Same here with the sucking at TF2. I just play the medic since it's all I can do right lol...sigh...

2nd Lieutenant Gunther (PSN: helghast102) @ Oct 30th 2009 11:13PM
More Uncharted 2 it seems, the multiplayer is still reall fun and im still going for level 60! (currently 42). also, the Halloween additions have been really fun, Skelzor vs Dead Explorer FTW. If anyone wants to join my regular U2 MP party feel free, PSN's in the name.
2nd Lieutenant Gunther (PSN: helghast102) @ Oct 30th 2009 11:21PM
Oh, and the God of War III demo is kickass, i'll probably play that alot too..
Markez @ Oct 30th 2009 11:14PM
Eh, I personally think the new DS looks awesome. Likely just wouldn't drop the necessary coin on it.
Our puppy chewed the hell out of my Dead Space case, so I think that's a sign that I finally need to get off my ass and finish the last two chapters. IF I finally, actually manage that it's a toss up of whether I want to start R&C or Uncharted.
While I'm dead last in the pumpkin voting, at least I got a mild brush with fame @ www.crittercrunch.com, WOOT
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Oct 30th 2009 11:17PM
It's okay. I never win any contests either.
Yours is the Boomer one, right?
Markez @ Oct 30th 2009 11:18PM
No, I did the one of the Fonz.
The Boomer one was my fave though! Looked so funny in those pants :P
Sly @ Oct 30th 2009 11:21PM
markez, i would have voted for ya, but damn that borderlands one was amazing. i can't carve a decent set of eyes, so anything i can recognize is a good jack o lantern in my book.
Mr Khan @ Oct 30th 2009 11:15PM
Finishing Twilight Princess (having re-discovered the complete and utter awesomeness of the Double Clawshot), though i will soon pass into a twilight of my own: two weeks of nothing really to play from finishing TP tomorrow, and NSMBWii November 15th
I'm thinking some Brawl, NSMB, and some of those VC games i never have time to play anymore, like Sin & Punishment (which i should probably finish sometime before the second one comes out), and Super Mario RPG (where i hit a snag almost a year ago, and just never got back to)
Markez @ Oct 30th 2009 11:22PM
You continue to jog my memory as of late of different awesome TP bits, it's been so long since I played it. Makes me want to go back and play that, and Wind Waker again. Then I remember I'm still on the final dungeon in PH, and have been forever, booooo.
CheeziePotato @ Oct 30th 2009 11:18PM
I'm playing Forza 3, Super Metroid, and TMNT IV Turtles in Time this week.
Jacksons @ Oct 30th 2009 11:24PM
Ratchet & Clank: ACiT whenever I have time. Absolutely excellent so far.
sonicspike41 @ Oct 30th 2009 11:28PM
Playing through Secret of Mana for the 3rd or 4th time now. I just recently got my DualShock 3 working with Vista (thanks to MotioninJoy) and also found a nice program (Joystick 2 Mouse 3.2) that lets me use it to control winamp, act as a mouse/keyboard, and more.
Still waiting to receive Borderlands (360), Uncharted 2, and Forza 3 from Best Buy though. Might also finally let the Ratchet & Clank and Critter Crunch downloads finish and give them a try.
ChuckBartowski @ Oct 30th 2009 11:29PM
Got a boy and his blob. Well see where that goes.
Old Professor Zertoss @ Oct 30th 2009 11:30PM
Having solved Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend last weekend, I'll be focusing on Borderlands and the Halloween fun in TF2 as well as some time with the L4D2 demo. When I'm not in front of my PC, I'll be slowly working my way through Disgaea 2 on my PSP.
Wayne Campbell @ Oct 31st 2009 1:09AM
Wasn't Brutal Legend depressingly short?
:/
They build up a good story and it was somewhat compelling and I loved the characters, but I didn't realize I was on the final boss until it was over. The ending came at the point where there should have been a healthy injection of climax.
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Oct 30th 2009 11:35PM
No games but Halloween party tomorow, with Sean Paul =D.
Shadowbender (Nelson Is Behind You) @ Oct 31st 2009 1:02AM
Seriously? You mean..."Temperature" Sean Paul? I envy you.
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Oct 31st 2009 1:48AM
I don't know who Temperature is but I'm talking about this guy.

He is replacing a local artist that was gonna play, but hey for 20 bucks I could do worse =D.
Sly @ Oct 31st 2009 1:59AM
that's "temperature" sean paul!!! you're so lucky! temperature is like his most famous song. that's what shadow meant.
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Oct 31st 2009 2:32AM
Ohhh, when he said that, I though it was another Sean Paul but that was a nickname to separate them, well I just hope I don't get ripped off and a look alike appeared XD, but I doubt it, since is a huge party with hundreds of people.
eNrique @ Oct 31st 2009 2:00PM

Twice.
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Nov 1st 2009 3:43AM
Well I'm just fresh from the party and it was off the hook, Sean paul close and personal, he even look you in the eye and shit, it was a lot of fun.
CaramelZappa @ Oct 30th 2009 11:43PM
TF2 all weekend. Maybe I'll play some uncharted 2 multi. Maybe.
