Much like that other highly anticipated Q4 blockbuster, it seems Assassin's Creed 2 won't receive a pre-launch playable preview. According to Connected Consoles, a Ubisoft representative recently confirmed at the Eurogamer Expo that the company has no plans for a demo. We've contacted Ubisoft to try and corroborate this report, and to see if the company has a good reason for not putting out a sneak preview of the title. You know, a reason better than "you guys already know what stabbing people is like."

What the hell spyder, you getting blowjobs from Ubisoft or something? its a pretty legit complaint, theres no reason for someone to NOT want a pre launch demo.
You need to turn your flame down a few notches. I dont know really know why you are so defensive for Ubisoft all of a sudden.

Well, I liked the first one, so I'll like this one. If you didn't like the first one, you probably won't like this one.
If you want a "demo" just rent AC1.

Filthy Assistant pretty much explained it. They don't need to release a demo. If you don't know how Assassin's Creed plays by now, rent it, borrow it or read a review. It's nice when there is a demo, but I think most people already know if they are going to buy it or not.

I dunno what you console kids are used to, and don't really care, but I'm used to low ping (6-20ms) on locally-hosted dedicated servers with admins who ban fuckmook hackers, griefers and shithead preteens. No host advantage, no compensating for some kid's shitty hardware, no being connected to some fuckwit in another country with dialup.
Without dedicated servers, multiplayer is gonna be a joke, so yeah, it's pretty easy to tell the game is going to suck considering how important multiplayer is to it's value. Not to mention no mods or community maps (good luck getting us to pay for that shit, remember Games for Windows? Fuck off.). And they want me to pay extra for it? All that's worth playing now is the single player, and if I want to play the single player, I can pir...rent it.
IW suck massive dick for taking that out, and all signs point to it being their decision, and not (or at least, not exclusively) Activision's. So fuck them. Fuck Activision too.

I will say that in the developer vids, the devs seem to have a big head syndrome.....and I don't mean penis related either. Unless you'd consider them dickheads of course. In that case it could be related.
I'm not saying they make shitty games, just shitty pompous attitudes.

And you know what L4D uses? Dedicated servers.
If you don't understand what their absence means to PC gaming, you may as well be a console kid.

You're a funny guy. Somehow you managed to take my annoyance at Infinity Ward and console gamers in general as a personal attack, disregarding any and all other points I made.
I don't think I'm the one here with a grudge against the internet.

Failed argument SpyderTaco. Come on. You have to be delusional not to see the real reason behind this. They know how repetitive their games are. If we were given demos of POP, Far Cry 2 and AC sales would have been lower.
Where's Michel Ancel when you need him? Oh that's right. Those shitheads at Ubisoft are busy cancelling his games while they produce crap like this. I'll buy AC 2 used for 20 bucks, a week after release judging by the first game.

Ah it doesn't matter, I'll be getting this game on day 1. 15th century Italy is one of my favorite time periods for art and I'd love to see how this game recreates that.

Why a demo? the game is like the Assasins Creed 1 but with more things, if you liked AC1 you will like the second

but if you didnt like the first, you might still like this one. It might be a little much, but i think they should have gone with a demo for an entire assassination. That way theyd get to see that they (hopefully) removed the repetitiveness of the sidequests, added more to do like the mercenary missions, shopping, Courtesans, equipment and house customization and all that jazz.

Why would someone who already bought the game need a demo? Sure they could play it early, but the point of a demo is to convince people to purchase the full game. If you limited the demo to only those who have purchased the game, the demo doesn't serve that purpose at all...

Sorry to burst your bubbles but I was watching AC2 at an expo yesterday and on ps3 it struggled to hit 25 frames.

If that was the Eurogamer Expo, then they were showing the TGS demo which is a build several months old. The lady explaining the game as I played said that it was complete but just needed tightening & bug fixing - frame rate is one of the last things they work on right up until the game goes gold from what I've heard.

No this was at the melbourne game expo and the game was lagging horribly with less than a month till release I doubt they are still changing things more just production and shipping of CD's
And just to clarify this wasnt a sit down and watch company representatives explain the game it was come sit down enjoy the game for yourself kinda thing...
Anyway I feel sorry for the xbox360 damnit why didnt I just buy a ps3 >_<

I was at the Armageddon Expo and had to try and get the PS3 the game was running on to be reset. The guy manning the stall just said "I always get asked to reset that one."
Still, it's framerate when being at the top of the tower is better than AC1 on the PS3...

I'd hazard a guess that the demo is a fairly old one and that the frame rate has been worked on since then. The demo I had was a sit down and play one too, but a Ubi rep was there to talk to us & answer questions. I wasn't sold on it before because of replaying AC1 recently, but having played it I can say that it looks goooooood.

you want a demo? Go to gamestop and pick up this game called Assassin's Creed.
Its basically the same thing, but you can do more and its set in 15th century Italy

I want this game regardless. Not a big deal to me. I think Gamestop has a pre-order demo .. maybe I'll cop that along with the god of war 3 demo.
