You clearly have no taste...
I mean come on! Dora AND Barbie in the SAME WEEK. That's 60 hard earned dollars going to two quality Wii games, my friend.

Left 4 Dead 2 demo (PC)
Dragon Age: Origins (PS3)
I still need to finish Ratchet & Clank and Borderlands.
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:20PM
I'd get Dragon Age on PC, but that's just me.
Rob S. @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:21PM
How come the 360 version of Borderlands sold out? Is it better or is their target audience just on the console more?
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:29PM
I'm assuming they made equal copies of the ps3 and 360 version, but I'm pretty sure they didn't make a lot to begin with. But 360 games do sell better than their ps3 counterparts, and I know the ps3 version did have more serious bugs.
I just think it has more to do with 360 being more popular and Gearbox not making that many copies to try and artificially drive sales. It is a fantastic game though, not saying it doesn't deserve to sell out. I actually hope it did legitimately sell out.
eNrique @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:29PM
I think it's because.-
Demon's Souls
Ratchet & Clank, and mainly
Uncharted 2
den-69 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:33PM
Good point, 360 owners have more money to buy borderlands because PS3 owners just spent all of theirs already lol
Orion @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:51PM
Yea, all those hard drives, battery packs and wifi adapters really make that $299 price tag a lot higher than what it seems.
Wait a minute...

fundando @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:53PM
Woohoo I wish I had money for Dragon Age but for now I'm just keeping it as the only thing in my Gamefly cue.
Levi @ Nov 2nd 2009 4:41PM
Yeah not to mention the PS3 has like no games
...Well, we ARE bringing outdated arguments to the conversation, so I though it'd be fitting... ^_^
freaparn @ Nov 2nd 2009 9:44PM
@Rob S
According to the local shops and rental places, Gearbox (well, 2K Games I guess?) didn't ship nearly enough copies to meet demand, much less exceed it for long-term sales returns. Guess that was kind of a minor faux pas on their part, what with the other big releases on the horizon.
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:19PM
Gamefly sent me Dragon Age for 360 this morning, so maybe tomorrow I'll get to play it. To be honest, I have no clue why I even put it on my list as I don't want to play anything that's similar to Baldur's Gate 2 or any other old PC western RPG, and it doesn't have easy achievements either.
I guess because of how great western rpgs have been this gen, taking the crown away from Japan, I subconsciously want to give it a chance and want to like it. Doubt I will though :\
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:24PM
"... taking the crown away from Japan..."
And that's your opinion. Everyone has different tastes, and just because you don't like Japanese RPGs, it doesn't mean that they are bad.
Just like you prefer Fallout 3 and Mass Effect over Japanese RPGs, a lot of people (me included) prefer Tales of Vesperia, Mario & Luigi or Final Fantasy over Western RPGs (hint: I'm not saying that those games are bad, of course not... in fact, those games are great).
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:25PM
I'm with Fernando.
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:27PM
Hey I'm just going off of sales and reviews, western rpgs are on top this gen. It's irrefutable. Doesn't mean you can't still like jrpgs, just saying that they've been taken down on the consoles.
eNrique @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:39PM
You have to wait till the King of all RPG comes out.
Yes, I'm talking about Final Fantasy XIII.
And I hate to, but I didn't like Fallout or Mass Effect, The best RPG's I played this gen are Fable 2, Tales of Vesperia and Demon's Souls (the best for me).
"I'm just going off of sales and reviews"
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/insomniac-games-took-negative-resistance-2-fan-feedback-to-heart/comments/22594938/
Your way of thinking confuses me.
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:41PM
Well, you wanted proof other than me thinking western rpgs are better..so I gave the only other 2 peices of proof there are, sales and reviews. What else could I do?
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:43PM
Tmac, that's a logical fallacy. Just because more people bought something doesn't make it better than something else.
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:44PM
http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-popularity.html
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:45PM
More sales mean more people are interested in the game/like the game. Reviews mean the critics like it/dislike it.
There's no other way other than finding every single person who plays games and asking them, which no one does.
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:47PM
Logical Fallacy. Sorry.
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:49PM
Just because more people are interested in a game doesn't make it better. That's another appeal to majority. Citing reviewers is a fallacious appeal to authority.
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:49PM
You can call it that all you want, while jrpgs continue to get crushed in sales and get mediocre to bad reviews...and as Japan's entire games industry continues to shrink and shift to handhelds. How much more proof do you need?
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:50PM
That may be the case. I'm just pointing out your argument's inability to hold water. No offense or anything.
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:51PM
I'm not sure how a correct argument can't hold water...
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:52PM
Rather, your premesies. My mistake.
Orion @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:53PM
I upvoted Fernando. Yes, it felt wrong, but given my only other choice was tmac, I think I'm justified in my decision.
Still, I need some anti-bacterial soap...
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:54PM
Cool story bro.
Rein [Prime Minister of the city-state of New Bjork] @ Nov 2nd 2009 3:01PM
Western RPGs selling well in the west!? That's preposterous!
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 3:03PM
Is that what you said the previous 20 years when JRPGs did better here than western ones?
Rein [Prime Minister of the city-state of New Bjork] @ Nov 2nd 2009 3:41PM
I'm just saying that it makes sense for Western RPGs to be prominent this generation, especially when you consider that there haven't been many releases of Eastern RPGs in the states compared to last gen.
With the exclusion of games like X-Men Legends, Morrowind, Jade Empire, Fable, and the KoTORs, Eastern RPGs dominated the US market last gen. This gen we have high profile sequels to these RPGs, but less Western RPG releases on home consoles, it's easy to believe that Western RPGs are dominating.
Plus, you have to consider that the marketing budgets of Western RPGs compared to Eastern RPGs are totally different. How many commercials for Persona 4 did I see? None. How many commercials for Fable 2 did I see? A bazillion.
Discotheque @ Nov 2nd 2009 4:14PM
Well personally I think Mass Effect is a poor example of a Western RPG. It could barely be called on at that. And the sidequests...were some of the most basic things I've ever done.
I'm hoping Dragon Age is a step away from this non-sense, which it looks to be.
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:20PM
Nothing for me this week. I will probably pick Rabbids Go Home later, at $20.
But in two weeks, God of War Collection and New Super Mario Bros. Wii!
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:35PM
I'm excited for nsmb wii too. Why? No idea, I can't even play it until christmas :(
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:36PM
Don't forget about the games I'm going to send you: Bit.Trip Beat and Bit.Trip Core.
=p
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:22PM
Dragon Age Collectors Edition on 360 and TFU on PS3. Screw Band Hero-this is all I need.
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:28PM
And maybe Jak on the PS2...for old times sake.
Jack Hollow @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:23PM
Barbie and the Three Musketeers sounds like a gang bang laden porn
Ryan @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:30PM
"Oh look, Muskateers!"
*bom-chicka-chicka-chicka-wah-wah*
Darth Bradwart, Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:41PM
Ryan, it's 'Bow chicka honk honk!"
Trickob @ Nov 2nd 2009 7:16PM
no, it's "brown chicken brown cow"
Shagittarius @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:23PM
Dragon Age for the PC for me this week.
Also Amazon screwed my order for Borderlands and that didnt get shipped till late last week so Im expecting that this week as well.
I no longer play demos on any system, not only do they ruin part of the final release but I also don't have enough time to play my full games let alone demos.
XBL: xGeneral DEATHx PSN: Deeth82 [Planeteer | Power of General Hostility and Angst] @ Nov 2nd 2009 4:05PM
I know what you mean about not having time....this holiday's release calendar was starting to depress me b/c I knew it would take through sometime mid-next year for me to finish just the holiday releases I wanted.
Maxx the Slash @ Nov 2nd 2009 2:23PM
Why does Fighting Street (Wii Virtual Console) cost $8 (800 points)? TurboGrafx-16 games are supposed to cost $6 (600 points).
