Another football game came out in the UK last week and, once again, it came in first place in the region's weekly software sales charts. This time around, the game was Football Manager 2010, in which soccer isn't played, but rather, managed. That's far too boring a concept to discuss further, so instead, let's move to the other big debuts: Wii Fit Plus, for instance, came in second place for the week, which is -- wait a minute. Doesn't Wii Fit Plus have a "Soccer Heading" minigame? Oh, Nintendo. You know exactly what you're doing.
Episodes From Liberty City and Tekken 6 also made a splash during their launch week, garnering sixth and eighth place finishes, respectively. However, DJ Hero seems to be following its expected, slow-starting sales trajectory, debuting at twentieth place in last week's chart. We've got a small suggestion for FreeStyle Games to improve the rhythm title's performance in the UK: Needs moar Dizzee Rascal.

And this site is based in America because we invented the internet. Oh, and real home video game consoles.

Yes, foreigners do tend to hate the truth.
But when you're in trouble, it's "OH TEH NOEZ! AMERICA! SAVE US!"
Example: WWI, WWII, any natural disaster, etc.

See, it's not America that's hated, it's people like that. Thank you for speaking out against him too so I don't sound like an America-phobe. Been there twice, awesome country, lovely people, it's just THOSE (points) ones that tarnish the opinion of many.

Tekken 6 in eighth-place? Boy, I bet Namco feels stupid shipping that many copies.

Eighth doesn't sound so bad when you consider the fact that it's a fighting game.

Yes this series is so boring that for the last iteration, FM2009, the average player played the game for 240 hours. Must be dull then.

I enjoy managing in sports games. It's the thing I do most in Madden (though I haven't bought a Madden title since 07 for the Xbox).

Hence why Handegg is only played in 10 second spurts. Perfect for the stunted attention spans of an American audience. :)

It's called 'context clues' Alex. But then again, considering the lack of proper grammar on this site, I shouldn't expect people to get that.

Well, I guess we can say goodbye to FreeStyle Games. Kotick is probably bulldozing the studio as we speak.

Football Manager is a gospel to us fans who like to get into the nitty gritty of the behind the scenes action, rather than just taking our 11 players and winning a game, this is a lot more indepth than you think!
Anything and everything can be run, from the smallest thing right up to making the decision to buy that £50m player from Real Madrid.

Are you talking about Karim Benzema?
You can probably get Kaká for that same price in Football Manager.

I remember being addicted to Football Manager - then known as Championship Manager - between 99-02.
My memories of those summers mainly consist of sending scouts to scavenge the Scandinavian leagues for the latest hot prospect. Kennedy Bakircioglu, Zlatan Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Zlatan Muslimovic, I loved these men. And let's not forget Cherno Samba, the greatest 15 year old of all time.

Personally, I hate how Joystiq always belittles any article related to football (Soccer). I know the writers are American and perhaps the majority of readers are also American and the chances are they probably hate, but the attitude of these articles are quite annoying.

i dont think its belittling, its just funny how every week there is a football game at pole position.
if i were looking at an american chart and every week an american football game was at number one i would think "damn those americans love that american football so much and yet i find it so boring " and also if it were an american footbal management game i would think "damn that must be the most boring concept for a game ever"
cant really blame thme for thinking the same thing if theyre not in to footy

But then I could say the same about FPS, racers, RPGs, platformers etc if I'm not into that. It'd be wrong of me to belittle other people's genres of choice though (oh, and apart from FPS I like all those a lot - FPS I just can never seem to get enthusiastic about for some reason).

1. it was a suck ass joke
and
2. it makes it look like you want attention. which is just childish
and yes i do know it was a joke, BUT a really bad one :)

just regular 42 mil, i never really tried to do clauses with the computer, especially when paying that much. I paid down around 30 of it straight, then 12 mil over 2 years.
sold mark noble to newcastle for 16 mil to get most of the 30 mil. they still went down haha. Sergio was worth it though, got me 2nd his first season, him and ashton made a great partnership.
