Spicy Horse teasing Alice sequel for 2011 release
24
We were surprised earlier this year to learn Spicy Horse was creating a follow-up to American McGee's dark take on Alice in Wonderland, which itself seemed like a concept so common and benign in today's market as to almost be kind of adorable. But consider us officially shocked after watching this video on the game's teaser site. It actually has us interested in the project -- apparently due in 2011.
If the creepy stop-motion animation is indicative of the final product's look we'll be more than a little intrigued; a notion surprising enough to make us wonder if we've been hitting the Caterpillar's hookah just a bit too hard.

I really really liked the first Alice game. The prospect of a sequel intrigues me.

American McGee's Alice was a phenomenal game, and I'm looking forward to this. Can't see the video as I'm at work, but if the atmosphere is as awesome as the original, I'm sold.

I loved the first Alice game and never thought a sequel would eve see the light of day. It wasn't the best game every, but between the ambitious visual design and the stellar music, I just fell in love with it.
I got chills toward the end of the trailer when the original music from the first game kicked in. I severely hope they get Tweaker to do the music again.

Oh man I would be first in line but I'm not sure how they would do this. The plot of the first one was: *SPOILERS* she became insane after the loss of her family and would go into long comas (wonderland) wherein she would effectively kill her past. After you beat it she obviously regained her sanity, as she was even leaving the asylum at the end *END SPOILERS*
So as much as I would like one, I don't see where they could go from there. I wish American McGee had just made Oz and Red Riding Hood like he said he was going to instead of wasting our time with Scrapland and the terrible Grimm games.

Loved the first one, and this preview clip makes the new one look creepy as hell. Definitely looking forward to see what comes of this.
Also, it would be cool if when this eventually launches, they accompany it with an XBLA/PSN version re-release of the original game.

I second this. A re-make would definitely benefit with current twin stick controls. The new one is now my most anticipated game. Still have the Alice and Mad Hatter figures on my desk.

Oh shit, my girlfriend is gonna be pleased about this one. Alice was her favorite game. We even have a big ass model of the cat in our living room.

Stop motion? Could this be... could this finally be a sign that the industry might be getting over their "everyfucking thing has to be shiny 3D CG" phase? And get back to what matters, namely just making great games with great artwork, without worrying whether or not tech geeks will get off to the number of shaders used in the engine? Could this mean shiny realistic bloom filled shit is finally becoming old news? I do hope so.

When I play through the Scarecrow sequences in Arkham Asylum I can't help but to think the developers were inspired by Alice. Alice was definitely ahead of it's time.

That has to be the wrongest-sounding headline ever.
