Watch out for Battlefield Bad Company 2 phishing, warns BF blog
DICE is letting folks know that there are currently no Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta sign-ups, meaning that any recent invitations you may have received represent scams. Battlefield producer Gordon Van Dyke is letting the community know that any site asking you to sign up for the beta is phishing -- he recommends you "give them the middle finger."
Van Dyke notes that if players aren't reading an announcement from the company's site or official Twitter, it just ain't real. Although we're sure you savvy consumers know better in this age, game companies aren't going to ask for your social security, mother's maiden name or other standard security questions.

I framed the email I got and put it on my desk at work. Ever since my family died, it's the closest thing I have found to love.
Toe nail clippers high crimes and playing cards.

is this a reference to something?
bumblo @ Nov 2nd 2009 10:45PM
No, I'm pretty sure that wasn't a reference to your jerseys or manicure sets, xuchaoxiong0010.
mortegro545 @ Nov 2nd 2009 10:49PM

I went to my local lake this morning in hopes of catching me a bad company code.
pibs @ Nov 2nd 2009 6:03PM
Doesn't work that way, you have a better chance of catching a copy of Haze. I know thats where I dumped mine at :P

If only there was a beta for BC2:( I consider the 3 big runners for online shooters coming up to be MW2, MAG and BC2. This is my most anticipated one as I always preferred the Bad company online to MW1 online.
SpaceFox @ Nov 2nd 2009 6:05PM
Hehe, love the word choice in that BF blog post.
Well GvD said to expect something "EPIC" this week. Now devs just don't go tossing around the word epic that often, so.... should be something really cool. Maybe a beta announcement or some single player info!

What scares me more than that people phish is that there's still people out there who willingly hand over their financial identities to strangers who shouldn't even need that information.
Lurkero @ Nov 2nd 2009 6:49PM
I knew there was something weird about that asked for my credit card info and social security #

Cleveland science fair and I looked all over trying to find a company that was trying to fit quadriplegics prosthetic arm, that would operate from the signals from my brain.
Two years ago, I was in a study that they put 9 tabs on my head and ask me to move my fingers and that she would watch the signals from my brain. I can imagine being able to walk and use my arms with that system.
