Footage allegedly taken from Australia's censored version of Left 4 Dead 2 has made its way online ... and we feel it's inadequately preparing citizens down under for the future! Though the game will get Aussies used to facing down a charging zombie horde, it does nothing to desensitize them to the revolting gore that inevitably follows.
The censored version lacks exploding heads, dismemberment (courtesy of the new melee weapons) and burning corpses. Sadly, for those of us who have built up a considerable hatred for the undead scourge threatening our civilization, the fallen undead just fade into the ether. Check out the full video after the break and pray for Australia's survival when the zombie apocalypse comes.

Half of what makes L4D2 worth it is the gore system.

One thing I like about the uncensored version is how the bodies don't disappear. Cause you know, they're DEAD and all.

I don't know anyone here who will be playing the censored version, so I wonder what the point of all this is?

Now that we can agree on. I've already preordered at dvd.co.uk.

So then, children are banned from using magnifying glasses? Or playing with plastic toy soldiers (and presumably exploding them with bottle rockets)?

I've already been in a game where instead of someone micspaming "Pills here" they were micspaming Ellis's "WUBUBUBUBUB".

@AUD_JD well that's kind of what I meant. If the local industry is getting killed, that directly affects the economy. Even if the gaming industry isn't worth billions of dollars, it' still something. And even if the money switching hands is that inconsequential (which I suspect it is), business owners losing a lot of money due to ridiculous censorship that effectively creates an embargo is enough to make headlines.
Nobody is going to take notice of gamers complaining about it, and I expect the media if they did cover that kind of thing would just treat it as though "those wacky kids", but when legitimate business people are kicking up a stink about policies the media tends to be more interested, and approach it with a different view.
I least that's how I envision it playing out in my imagination world.

Hahahaha. Australia, you guys suck. They censor and ban too many damn things when over here in the US, it would either get an AO rating or M. You, you just ban ban ban.
