Several Joysitq staffers were pleased to discover that the 2009 Club Nintendo rewards have begun to arrive today. For those that need a reminder of what the gifts are, Platinum members got to choose between a real life Mario hat or a download of Doc Louis's Punch-Out!!, a special version of Punch-Out!! featuring Little Mac's trainer, Doc Louis. Meanwhile, Gold members were limited to one gift, a 2010 Nintendo calendar. Check out the gallery below for images of all the different gifts.

The Mario hat is awesome, but it looks completely goofy!
It doesn't look anything like it should when it's on.
But I still think it's awesome!

I was pleased to discover mine a week or so back.
Kinda wish I went with the hat though.

I got my download notice last week and then the game shortly afterwards.
It's okay, and I wish I had taken the Mario hat instead.

I got my hat a week ago, it's not much more than a cheap foam hat will a cardboard bill bent too far upwards. Dissapointing overall, though I guess it is slightly better than nothing.
I did get to dress as Mario for Halloween though, that was fun.

Got the hat myself last week, glad I didn't go for the download for a single fight version of Punch-Out.

Having the game made me realize that a Mario Hat could ahve been moresymbolic than a game with only a Club Nintendo Cameo... Game's cool, fun if haven't played Puch-Out!!, but Mario Hat wouldhave been more awesome!

Is it me, or anybody else has the impression that the calendar hints at future Nintendo releases?
Look! June for Metroid: Other M, October: New Zelda (Wii), November: Pikmin 3, December: Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Perhaps Pokemon in September fits too but I'm not so sure of that. What do you peoople think?

I'm a platinum member, but I never received any kind of notice on what to choose. Where do I go to place the order?

Club Nintendo website, I doubt the offer is still available though.

Either I have a huge head or that hat is really small. It would not fit me so I gave it to my little brother.

Got the Mario hat a couple of weeks ago as well. Much too small to look right on an adult, but it will probably fit my daughter nicely in a couple of years. For now, it resides on a stuffed Spongebob sitting in the entertainment room.
I wonder what they will have in store for club members next year. I'm guessing that since a lot of us had saved up points over the course of several years when there was no Club Nintendo, there won't be nearly as many Platinum members in 2010. Maybe with fewer platinum members, they'll have a cooler item like the SNES/SFC classic controller. That's what I was hoping for this year since it's unlikely I will ever achieve platinum status.
Oh well, the hat is cool too, and much more timeless than a Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack CD.

Wii games published by Nintendo after 2009 Club Nintendo Year; (After June 30)
Wii Sports Resort
Metroid Prime:Trilogy
Wii Fit Plus
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
so there are 240 coins, including registration and post play survey.
(I didn't count DS games)
but there are already lots of games out there you can collect coins from.
I already have 440 coins for the 2010 Club Nintendo, so that makes me already gold member. It will take another 3 games to make it 600.
But, Club Nintendo is COOL!!!
I hope that they will let user to register DSi XL on the top of DSi.

Don't get me wrong, Club Nintendo is great! I'm just no longer at the point in my life where I'll be able to accrue 600 points in the span of a year. Gone are the days of 6+ hour play sessions trying to beat a game within days of release.=(
To be honest, I'm not sure if I ever was at that point where I was buying a game a month. The only reason I made platinum last year was because I had a bunch of Wii and DS games that I had registered over the course of several years before they launched Club Nintendo stateside.

September release for the Pokemon remakes?!?!!? Heh.
But like many others, sucks that the hat is a bit small. Never once doubted that it would ever fit just right, but daaang. Still, makes a great shelf display.

I got the calendar a week ago. It was a lot smaller than I expected and I wanted the hat to begin with.. (but no choice). But anyways, it's free so it's all good.

I would've preferred the calendar over my hat. When i opened it was like "This is what i get for $600?.."

i picked the punch out download, and like it more than some cheesy, cheap looking hat.

I think us Platinum members got duped; The calendar actually seems cooler to me from these pictures than both Platinum rewards put together!
