The giant HD sprites of Arc System Works' fighter
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger will be shrunk down a bit.
Famitsu has announced that Arc System Works is preparing a PSP port of the fighter. The portable release, out in Japan on February 25, will feature all the characters from the console game, and ad-hoc multiplayer for up to four. It'll also include a new Legion Mode in which players fight to gain territory on a game board. No screens or scans have been released yet.
Considering the prolific nature of
Blazblue's predecessor, the
Guilty Gear series, and the fact that there's already an
updated version of the original game on the way to arcades, don't expect this to be the only port of
Blazblue.

i'd be more excited if it had Infrastructure multiplayer for up to four.

It's a two-player game...

They've got my interest at Legion Mode. :D
Ahmedz @ Nov 4th 2009 2:01PM
That's nice. Now where the hell is our PAL version?!?!
eNrique @ Nov 4th 2009 2:04PM
If even PJ Monsters Deluxe supports Infrastructure online play,
why this isn't?
S. Tiger @ Nov 4th 2009 2:53PM
PS3 and 360 version have online capabilities. I'd assume since this is a port, it might as well.
KingOfHearts @ Nov 4th 2009 2:08PM
According to my friend, you can play Blazblue on the PSP with Remote Play..
Haven't tried it myself, but it's interesting nonetheless.
fundando @ Nov 4th 2009 2:21PM
It works but there is a slight lag.
Marco le Polo @ Nov 4th 2009 2:12PM
I've never even heard of this game! Has it ever been released stateside?
KingOfHearts @ Nov 4th 2009 2:20PM
.. It's been out since July, kid..
A shame you haven't heard of it. It's a damn good game..
It still isn't out in Europe tho, but they do get the game and 2 new playable characters.
RageOverdose @ Nov 4th 2009 2:21PM
Yup. Made by the same team that did the Guilty Gear series.
You can get it on PS3 or 360.
G-Anderton @ Nov 4th 2009 4:32PM
Dear god yes! Legion mode sounds spectacularrrrrrrr!
CloudStrife @ Nov 4th 2009 2:39PM
Can us guys in Europe play this game at some point please?
Forchy @ Nov 4th 2009 2:47PM
Yea the original supports remote play!!! A very rare thing for a full ps3 game. Can be laggy depending on connection. N if u have it on 1080p u hafta lower the settings while u remote play so it looks good. Unless u hook it up to a tv with the tv out. Lol. It's hillarious in theory when I tried it out. I had it running remote play over my network from my ps3 to my psp in another room, & used the psp tv out to display it on a 32" 720p tv. And it looked m ran great lol. So in theory u could do the same to over inet to ur psp anywhere n hook it to a tv n play online too lol. Every feauture in the single player game's availible on remote play. Wish MORE games did this. Cause u get the graphics horsepower of the ps3 on the psp. N is like a homemade version of the cloud computing systems that r eventually coming out. N if blazeblue can do it, no reason any game like uncharted or killzone2 couldn't. Cause it just sends the video fast, & the button presses etc get sent to the console so fast it works for a 2d fighter. Which demands precision. So those games n future ones could easily do it. But probably not a cost developers are willing to spend. But if done right, imagine the graphics possible on a psp. It b like a lower Rez psp3. Lol. Ahh 1 can dream n at least blazeblue does it ok

It's machine code...

You abbreviated short words like "you," "and," and "be," and yet you lengthened the word "BlazBlue." My reading comprehension has been degraded 24.7%. [A]bort/[R]etry/[I]gnore?

I remember first seeing the BlazBlue machine at Arcade UFO. Imported from Japan because I guess they didn't want to wait for the US release.
Preordered it for PS3 (Even when I didn't have one).
I cannot WAIT for this game to get a US release. Or I just might import it.

As a guy who can only dream of today consoles and the most modern thing he haves is a PSP,Thank you Arc System Works.
No Kill Tayler @ Nov 4th 2009 4:08PM
BlazBlue or Tekken 6?
No Kill Tayler @ Nov 4th 2009 4:08PM
PSP wise
S. Tiger @ Nov 4th 2009 4:31PM
BlazBlue
mahouneko @ Nov 4th 2009 4:41PM
Hands down, BlazBlue. Nothing against Tekken 6 but BlazBlue is just pure fighting glee that I haven't felt in ages.
S. Tiger @ Nov 4th 2009 8:30PM
Tekken 6 has a fat redneck unrealistically fighting off bank robbers. ARMED bank robbers. (Watch the intro.)
Or maybe he's a lumberjack. I'm not sure. But then he's awesome.
Husher @ Nov 4th 2009 5:39PM
is noel a dude or a girl in this game >_>
RagingStormX @ Nov 4th 2009 6:07PM
All woman ...none of that bridgette BS from Guilty Gear.

Jin, however, is gay for his brother.
LiveFromPhiladelphia @ Nov 4th 2009 6:39PM
Can't wait. I've been wanting a real PSP version since playing it via remote play.
Hope it comes out day and date on PSN for us Go owners.
Stochinblockin @ Nov 4th 2009 7:42PM
Blazblue kicks ass. Best 2D fighting game in ages. I might have to get a PSP now.
