Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising getting DLC tomorrow
Tomorrow's one of those days when it'll be nice to be a PC gamer. Not only will you be able to get a title update for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (the full details of which are available here) you'll also be the first to get your hands on the "Skirmish" DLC, which includes four new multiplayer maps and two new Fire Team Engagement missions. The console title update (which you can read about about here) is due on the 360 tomorrow and on the PS3 "shortly after."
Moreover, when Skirmish is eventually released on consoles, it'll come with a price tag of 400 points ($5) on 360 and $3.99 on PS3. Sure, the price discrepancy will cause a flare up in the console war, but what do you care? You're a PC gamer. You rise above.

Still no dedicated servers.

Hope the 360 version gets some bugs ironed out on it. After watching my AI team member, who was suppose to be taking out an APC, crawl on his belly to avoid fire, he finally stood up and fired a rocket at it... he was standing in front of a tree at the time. He gibbed into a thousand pieces. I was getting really frustrated at that point, but at least that made me laugh harder than I have in a long time.
But yea, AI fixes and the ability for non-hosts to pick up weapons would be great (this was from a sys-linked game).

Well the way you describe it is the way it would really happen. Im in afghanistan right now. I can tell you that not everyone will rush out in the middle of a fire fight to fire at a tank. I would crawl to a safe cover before I engage a tank. Just in case I have a mis-fire or barely dent the tank. I would have cover or stealth protection so that I can reload and try again. Trust me... if you shoot at a tank and miss and don't have cover, you might as well kiss your ass goodbye. See u in another life my friend. LOL.
The games AI is kinda of designed to think that way. I noticed that when I brought it and played.
Some AI team members just get lost if you traverse hills. That should be fixed. If the AI can't go there, you should not be able to go there also.

This game is a disaster. I played 30 minutes and could not go through the torture of this game. I was expecting a lot because of the Operation Flashpoint name. But I guess Codemasters had to screw that up.
I should pick up a copy of Arma 2.

Wait, I thought the first DLC was supposed to be free on the consoles. Didn't they say that in an interview somewhere? Oh well, at least I have ArmA2 to keep me busy.

All I want in the title update is the ability to play from checkpoints in multiplayer co-op. Whose stupid idea was that to have checkpoint spawns in single player, but remove it in multi?

Hmmm .... might not have been that clear. I mean that if everyone I'm playing with dies during a mission, we have to restart the entire mission from the beginning, not from the last checkpoint.
