Curious, how does all this always get through QA?

Do they NOT have internet access?

We can wonder all we want. But it WILL continue to happen. Sadly online play is something people just can't get right. Over and over again they run into the same problems as if this is their first time experiencing it.

I personally believe in this case NAMCO knew about the issues, but shipped the game anyway (like many others).

Might have something to do with QA not being hundreds of thousands of people.

More people means more server strain which means more lag. Just the way it is. They can try to predict it by only using a single server and such, but it's not really a "testable" scenario.

@Xoonaka

LIES! Even at non-peak hours the game will go into a sort of "slo-mo" effect in matches. And it randomly affects 1 or both players at a time.

Hey hey now, I've played it, I know the online here is pretty bad. Not saying the QA woes are the case HERE, just saying I'm sure it's a contributing factor as to why so many games ship with online issues.

I still cant believe that all games don't have mandatory beta testing these days, online is such a huge part of this generation. Especially with a fighting game.

Betas take extra resources...resources take extra time and extra time takes extra money.

It would make too much sense for them to test it out with the public..too much sense. Why do that, when they can (FOR FREE!) test it out on our $60.

Thank God. Please let them fix the connection online. Connection are hideous at the best of times and I had stopped playing online matches due to being smashed by some little fool who has slightly less lag than me. so teeth-nashingly fustrating. Trouble is, you can only advance a character to 1st dan in offline mode.

Co-op SC would be nice as I am stuck on nightmare train and it is starting to make me crazy.

These are the same "rigorous testing procedures" they applied before the initial release?

Personally, I'm more interested in them patching it to have less ridiculous load times.

Yeah, but even after you've installed it, it's still takes a while to load sometimes. Hell, it usually takes a good five seconds or so for the characters to even appear on the pre-match versus screen.

After an install the load times aren't THAT bad. The only time it really annoys me significantly is dureing team battles. Does it really have to have a full loading screen between each f***ing round?

Yes please fix this!!!! I feel like I'm playing against a opponent on speed while my guy is weighted down. I've given up playing Tekken Online due to it. Guess I'll wait and see if this patch fixes thing.

I dont know if there is an option to do this or not, but if there isnt they need to put in an option to turn off the low health damage boost. I dont know why they thought putting this idea in the game was a good idea in the first place. Having someone with practically no health left kill you with one kick when you have a quarter of health left is the most frustrating thing ever.

That really is the dumbest addition to the series. I was on my 10th battle in survivor, and the asshole wiped out half my life bar and killed me.

Dunno, I actually like the idea, that last second comeback.. the 10 rounds of Survivor was the first thing I did, keeps you on your toes a bit... the only thing I dislike are the 2 'bosses', cheap & unsatisfying.. but y'know, you get to know how to beat them, I even beat it with my worst characters..

I've run into similar problems on certain games. My solution was that I had DTS enabled in my Sound Settings. My receiver is DTS-capable, but some games don't send the "right" data to the receiver.

FWIW: Even if you disable DTS in your Sound Settings, streamed movies with DTS soundtracks still play in DTS. Why? Not sure, but it works.

I was so dissapointed with this game. First time I've ever preordered something. The fight stick came defective -> exchanged -> by default, not in HD and broken online play?? How is this any where near the arcade version. Oh, and my second hori stick felt way too loose -> returned.

In the 40 games of online I played I only won 17 of them due to the lag. I could tell everyone I played against has gotten use to it, as you pretty much have to input everything 1 second ahead of time to keep up. It's gotten better, but still sucks.

The online is horrible. You can utilize lag spam moves and win, it's so terrible. Kazuya can do uf 4,4,4,4 for a quick high block - low block move and because of the lag, I have yet to see anyone block it. They can't all be retarded, so I'm assuming because of the lag they can't switch up their blocking fast enough.

I wasn't planning on buying it (I'm more into VF), but I've heard so much complaints about the online, and it sounds horrible..

yeah it is bad, I have been lag spammed many times. I had to stop playing with King as I couldn't get off the grab combos well enough. (sam story with Lili, her combos are too precise) I can win with Ganryu but a cheap slap fest is no fun. Sooooo I play with Yoshimitsu, If I cet badly skanked at least I can commit suicide and deny them the pleasure!!!

Interestingly enough I am NEVER the host, I always seem to synch to someone else. Hope it gets sorted.

yeah gotta try that- the problem with my receiver is that he changes itself to the whatever out put is streaming like akira bluray at pcm 197 mhz standard on my receiver if i change the audio say 5.1 dts the receiver adapts, also uncharted 2 the same thing 7.1 pcm then change to dolby pro logic 2 it adapts it recognize the codecs and changes its settings- my ps3 outputs to my receiver pcm 48 mhz standard thru hdmi. :D

I really hope the fix the dumb rule about ranked matches, where both players lose a rank and get a loss on their record if one player disconnects/rage quits. My roommate has a REALLY good Asuka, and he's stuck in the Dan rankings. He'd go on a winning streak and level up, and someone gets mad because they're a scrub and DC on him, and he loses his rank. Ridiculousness.

Ah, good old Namco. Even with broadband connections, they continue to remind us what dial-up Kaillera felt like back in the day. When one finally gets good at online they feel this ethereal, Miss Cleo rivaling ciairvoyance which is promptly shattered by some random scrub in an offline local tournament.

Never change, Namco.

All that Namco needs to do is add a little checkbox... "Only connect to low latency matches", instead of randomly matching you up with any connection anywhere in the world. It's an easy fix if you ask me... PLEASE hurry up Namco!
