That same tv has always been that price at Walmart. That's not really a sale, so don't feel the need to rush into it this Saturday.

My girlfriend will be getting the 360 I pick up Saturday and the PS3 for Xmas as the $100 gift card just made getting both much more possible.

Totally going for Best Boyfriend of the Year achievement by throwing in extra controllers, Brutal Legend on 360, and Little Big Planet for maximum gamer couple time.

Those extra shifts I'm working are totally worth it :)

WINTerfang was downvoted for saying the 360 > PS3.

eNrique was downvoted for saying the PS3 > 360.

I was downvoted because I encouraged people to buy both a 360 and a PS3 and not fanboy.

I'm confused.

@Winterfang

"But what if I want the console with the better online experience, better controller, better warranty,better multiconsole games and the sexy factor?"

Why the fuck is everyone STILL arguing about which console is better? Haven't you guys gotten it out of your system yet? It's only been what ... 2-3 years now?

I'll take the bait since thats obviously what you want. All you ever do is come online and talk shit anymore inbetween instances of stuttering broken english and complimenting your tiger tat.

"better online experience" what experience is that? The one that charges you to use any of it's features?

"better controller" I have this weird condition where both my hands are symetrical. Call me crazy but it feels pretty normal to hold a controller in the natural position of my hands. I know I'm some kind of fanboy aren't I?

"better warranty" The warranty that you need because of hardware failure rates? The warranty that doesn't cover all known material defects caused by overheating? The one thats about to expire for launch units?

"better multiconsole games" Multi-console implies they are on both. If it's not multiconsole it's an exclusive. That is unless you are talking about being able to pay for expansions and exclusive DLC on GTA. If you are talking about the disparity in quality then your grasping for straws. Do you think antialiasing on a vine that you have to blow up a still image to full resolution with side by side comparisons to tell the difference is going to have any effect when you play the game in motion? Play Arkham Asylum on the PS3 and then come and tell me the experience is inferior to the 360 version.

"sexy factor" Nothing screams sexy like cheap looking plastic with an ejectable tray, big power brick, loud ass fan and snap on parts! I got a boner dragon just thinking about it.

REACT TO ME!

@johnnynumber5

Agreed. The fact is, today, both systems are about the same, and the only things we can really argue over is opinions (ie, which controller do you personally prefer). Why don't we just argue over which system has the better logo while we're at it?

@CheeziePotato

Especially considering that we're arguing over something as pointless as video games. If one's life is that highly impacted by which system wins this gen, then either A) He or she works for Microsoft or Sony or B) His or her life is pretty pathetic. Let's hope it's the former.

A $200 Xbox 360 + $150 Blu-ray Player - $100 gift card = $250 Xbox 360 w/ Blu-ray

$250 Xbox 360+Blu-ray > $299 Standalone PS3

Thanks Wal Mart for giving me a great gift idea.

But of course, if you're choosing your system based on value than game selection isn't necessarily your priority. Cheap cars aren't better than luxury cars because they're a better "value."

Are you serious? What kind of dumbass plays games over wifi? Wired wins for everything every time. If you don't have a nearby jack it is extremely easy to install one. If you can't install a jack because you live with your parents your opinion is irrelevant anyway.

Shibathedog.... What kind of idiot thinks that wired gives you more of an advantage then WiFi?

WiFi is just fine for online gaming and I would rather set up WiFi (not just for gaming, Laptop, Cell Phone, Portable Handhelds,etc.) then installing a bunch of jacks all over the house...... Just saying.

You aren't getting a 360 for $99. You still have to pay $200 in cash. You just get a $100 Wal-Mart gift card for doing so. You still have to spend $200 of actual cash. It's not like you can walk in there with $100 and tell them to keep the gift card and call it even. It's an important distinction to make. It's a good deal if you were already considering buying an Arcade but it's not a $100 360.

A $100 gift card at Walmart is the same as cash to adults. They have groceries (which are much cheaper than regular grocery stores), every adult buys groceries, use the gift card on groceries.

WINterfang: a WiFi connection is an order of magnitude faster than your Internet service, so speed-wise WiFi is fine as long as the connection is reliable.

It's not the bandwidth that matters with gaming, it's the latency, which WiFi adds quite a bit to

I'll get more use out of an extra 360 for another room of my house than I do out of my PS3. I log maybe a third of my gaming hours on the PS3, the rest to my 360.

It's the 2.0 spec Sony BDP-S360 player. Not bad for the money but at this price it's been sitting on Amazon for a good minute. Sad thing it doesn't have Netflix or Pandora etc that new players have.

Look, I'd always tell people to grab a PS3 for their Blu-raying needs which is only added to by it's gaming, internet browser, wi-fi & soon Netflix streaming through disk & easy updates blah blah blah etc but for the cheap money it's grab the S360 or wait for the Holiday expected deals of below $100 BP players, even a few $50 offerings are expected.

Umm, I'm pretty sure they would catch on to that. You either have to return the gift card, or they deduct that fee from the cost of the system. Either way, no.
