Give thanks for Bit.Trip Void on November 23

If you like the music from the Bit.Trip games, you'll also be delighted to know that the soundtrack for Bit.Trip: Beat is now available for purchase on iTunes and CDBaby, with releases to follow on pretty much every online and mobile music retailer you've ever heard of, and several you haven't.
Finally, proving its allegiance to the chiptune community. Gaijin Games announced that it will sponsor this year's Blip Festival in New York City. Classy!

Not sure if this will be game of the year. Not sure if this will be WiiWare game of the year even. Strong competition from the other Bit Trip games and Lost Winds 2. It'll be a game worth buying though, that's not doubted.

There's no way a wiiware game could ever be goty, same for psn or xbla. If that were to happen, that means that gaming has truly become so bad that nothing good came out in retail, which means I quit.

You're too late, tmac. Mega Man 9 was already GOTY 08. Thank you for your time. There is a box for your stuff waiting by your desk.
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 5th 2009 7:16PM
You mean goty '88 right?

Are these games as cool as they look? I've never really paid much attention, though after watch a few Youtube clips of the gameplay they look pretty damned neat.
Probably super hard, though. Not that that's necessarily something I can't get down with.

Not sure about the Core (I'll get around to it sometime soon), but Beat looks rubbish on Youtube compared to when you are playing it. I'm not a fan of dance/electronic music, but the music of Beat really just makes you feel good, and helps with the gameplay - you begin to stop relying on what you see, and just begin to predict what'll be likely next by the music and the patterns seen before.

Core is just as awesome as Beat gameplay-wise but I liked the music better in Core. These games are awesome. Hard as hell, but never frustrating in my experience. Definitely worth the 600 points for each.

Congratulations tmac, you managed not to get a joke/intentional exaggeration.
Acorn @ Nov 5th 2009 12:57PM
Personally, I thought Beat was good, but certainly not everyone's cup of tea. I preferred Core, and I think most people in general would.

And the comment aimed at tmac was aimed at tmac.

Yes, the games are super hard, but you feel like history's greatest champion when you finally clear a song. Knowing that, a no-fail mode for parties and practice would be very nice.

This is the exact type of game that will benefit from having a demo. I've heard praise for all of the Bit.Trip games, but am afraid to buy them because I don't know how they play.
GordoJones @ Nov 5th 2009 12:25PM
I bought a Wii two weeks ago just for Bit.Trip Beat & Core. Both games far exceeded the experience I was hoping for, and were definitely worth the purchase of a Wii.

Us Canadians celebrated our Thanksgiving on October 12th. Our Thanksgiving had Uncharted 2 coming out the next day. Therefore it is superior.
Still buying the hell out of bt Void though.
