I'll hold tight for a sale price. I still don't feel the changes are significant enough to release a sequel vs. a patch. That said.. with sales so high, I might not have to wait that long for that sale!

Kmart and Sears have the game for 39 on BF. Sale enough?

Getting there.. $30 or less is my breaking point, unless this game really kicks ass.

I'd say just get it on Steam with 3 other people. The four pack deal makes it only 33 and change per person. Well worth it I'd say.

"We work at looking at the project and trying to get it out."

How about you try that with HL2:ep 3? Episodic games are supposed to be made in less than a year and full games are supposed to take 2+ years, not he other way around.

I wasn't planning on picking it up first day, but then they revealed that the baseball bat was an in store promo. That's what convinced me to plop down 5 bucks.

Well, that, and I enjoyed what I played in the demo, even if it was incredibly short.

I'm really on the fence about this one. IDK, Iike it I just don't really think it's better than the last. . . but it's really hard to tell in a Demo.

Better question WHY IS IT DURING THE DAY!!! Really, it the intensity just seams so much weaker in the daylight

I actually liked the change to daylight. Mixed things up.

I completely agree about the "intensity" of the game being a bit lacking in the daylight levels. Especially so in relation to special infected. I just didn't feel that rush like I do in L4D when you hear that hunter scream off in the distance. Mostly because I could see him chilling down the road in his brand new sleeveless hoodie.

I also felt that the new special infected added nothing compelling to the gameplay in the singleplayer/cooperative modes. Can't judge how they'll work out in Vs, but they simply didn't elicit that same "shit your pants" feeling the first time you get jumped by a hunter.

The new weapons were pretty nice though.

This is definitely one I'll hold off on, especially since I picked up L4D just days before L4D2 was announced and there are so many other games that I'm more interested in.

Yeah, feels more like a rental than a purchase to me. I dunno if it's the daylight or the lack of vs, but I never really felt in danger once, even on the highest difficulty. Went through on single player and co-op, but... seems kind of, well, boring? I think part of that might be the sort of "flat" level design, the weaker levels in the original were usually the single-floor urban environment settings.

I love Valve, but I just don't get how they were so intent on rushing this game out for the holidays when people have literally been waiting for YEARS for either HL2 Ep3 or just plain old HL3. It just looks fishy when a company notorious for taking their sweet ass time on every single thing they release does something like this. I don't care for zombie games, so it's really no skin off my nose, but I am a bit angry that the Half Life series seems to have been forgotten. Half Life 2 is my favorite game of all time, and I want to see how the story ends.

Now that you mention it, I'm actually shocked some idiot hasn't tried to sue Sony about that.

i played the demo. NOT impressed what so ever. Graphically and gameplay still feels exactly the same. A couple new additions like the frying pan, bats, etc.. is nice but thats not enough for me. I dont care what they have said about this game not being a "expansion" but its felt exactly like that and aint worth the $60 at all.

With a bad team that doesn't communicate, it can be really frusterating.

But get together a team that at least isn't retarded or grieving each other, and it's amazing.

I highly recommend this game. The level of polish is leaps and bounds beyond the first L4D (although it still has a place in my heart...and on the shelf, collecting dust). Are you getting it on Xbox or PC?

I just wrapped up the demo. It was okay but not a game-changer for me.

I thought the group pre-order but there's only one other local player that would buy in. I'll see if some on-line folk would pitch paypal.

Seriously, L4D is THE most fun I've ever had playing online. They're right though, you need a good team of people to chat with because when it gets going you're all going to be screaming at each other and it's all about sticking together. Pretty soon it won't be uncommon for you to hear or say:

"I hear a Boomer! Where is he? I can't see him but it sounds like he's right on top of me!|

"SHIT! The Witch is RIGHT there!"

"Just keep running! The Tank is following you!"

Oh man, good times. Now I feel like playing again....

Boycott failed!! I don't get why people get upset over Valve making money? Or that PC gamers is the reason why the first sold so well? God for bid if Valve makes money.
