Lol, what a weird response. When your life and career is basically developing games you'd think he'd consider them at least somewhat important.

In overall matter of things video games are trivial. I love games, play pretty much everything worth playing. But I have a wife, two kids, parents and a mortgage, I know what's important. Games are important part of my life, but they're not what's most important in life.

But considering they're his job...they should be important to him.

Your job is not your life. They come and go!

He wasn't asked if they were important to him, they asked him if they were important, period. And like all luxury items, they are truly not.

You really think games are that important? I know they're fun to play but if I have better things to do then I put the game down and finish those things first.

I'm glad he said no. Games are entertainment. Even though his career is about video games he probably has enough knowledge to apply it to some other form of computer programming that may be able to be utilized for more useful things in life

Yeah, great answer. Of course games aren't important. Games are on a par with airport novels and blockbuster films - entertaining, but not important. (And even more serious novels/films, or games in the rare event that might happen, are still not very important either.)

It's important that we have a culture, including entertainment and art, but any specific piece of entertainment or art isn't important. (Maybe with very rare exceptions, none of which are games.)
