First footage of Netflix on PS3

Tipster Otis got the Netflix PS3 streaming disc in the mail today and set immediately to work capturing it, providing the first look at what we'll all be checking out later today. After the break, you can see (but not hear -- there's no sound in the recording) what the PS3 Netflix interface looks like.

Unfortunately, the early report of the service doesn't sound quite perfect. Otis says in the YouTube description that all video renders at 480p and doesn't scale properly. We'll be testing these claims ourselves when we get the chance to check out the service. Let us know with a comment if there's any other feature of the PS3's new Netflix capability that you'd like us to investigate!

just in case anyone was wondering, u can force 1080i for the menu and for hd movies....

It looks like DVD quality for me and some movies were full screen and some with bars which is fine for tv shows and movies i don't care enough about to rent the blu ray

update: I got a few HD movies to stream and it looked pretty sweet but blu-ray is still king

You have to use a disc? If thats the case then thats lame. The interface is nothing to go on about but its functional and since its free I won't complain.

when ever i try to watch an HD movie it keeps my HD TV keeps switching back from 720P TO 480P. could it be my DSL connection?. any body know what connection speed do you need to stream HD Video?
