I liked the first game, but it was really laggy with very spotty hit detection for me. If they fixed that in the sequel, count me in!

If you check out some of the new multiplayer videos (and even the leaked ones) it seems they fixed that problem.

Agreed, none of my friends own PS3 and then i told them "hey guys the battlefield bad company beta is coming out soon" and they were like "OH SWEET" then I said "...on PS3" and they got pretty mad :P

sidenote: they changed the little thing that comes on the screen when you hit someone, the little red crescent :'[ I loved that thing, that made bad company for me as strange as that sounds

I had fun with BF:BC1 beta on 360. The retail version wasn't as impressive as it might've seemed. This one looks to be a step up, though. Will add this title to queue on Gamefly just in case.

I heard there's a PC beta too. Only it's coming a bit later. In December I think.

I'm definitely trying the beta on both. Gotta get my Bad Company fix.

Did they fix the microphones? They didn't in BF:BC or BF1943.

Are you talking about the ability for the whole the whole team to talk to each other instead of just squads? Probably not I wish they would just have the ability to make your own squads like Killzone 2 then you could get around getting stuck in a squad with no mics or guys that aren't team players...

No, he means how the mics stopped working midgame. Sometimes they would work, other times they wouldn't.

I hope they fixed the lag. It's really frustrating when you're trying to zoom with a sniper and your reticle doesn't follow your viewpoint...

ATV's have been with us since before Halo. I know, hard to believe.

I have 2 real physical ATVs. I had them before Halo 3, but I have always been confused about that. Halo 3 invented them... so I thought. :O I have always just put that under "Glitch in the Matrix" or a time travel paradox from Skynet and the resistance fighters fucking around w/ time travel so much.

ATV were in BF2 special forces, which came out in 2005, halo 3 came out in 2007.

Halo 3 did not invent the idea.

I got 92% completion then realized the remaining trophy was for getting ALL THE AWARDS for the multiplayer which were pretty much impossible. I think one required you kill three people in a couple seconds three different ways.

I agree, without getting really lucky almost the only way to get all the trophies is to boost. Or play just INSANE amounts and only work on one trophy, and that takes the fun of the game away too.

It killed me that for one of the helo's, there was a glitch that kept any of the kills from registering (the Havok I think).

But the game was alot of fun. There were a few janky things about it, but I'm still playing it (until Tuesday at least). Already pre-ordered and am looking forward to the beta!

This is the version that takes off its glasses and lets down its hair in the last leg of the movie, then you realize it was beautiful all along and take it to the prom instead of that stuck-up bitch MW2.

Really though, that looks like pretty solid, looking forward to this MP beta.

PS3 version since it shows the context sensitive actions show a d-pad. Bad Company 2 will probably come out on Steam since EA put the older Battlefield games on there.

And yeah, Modern Warfare 2, eat your heart out.

I guess Randy Nelson didn't play Battlefield 2: Special Forces on PC which featured ATVs. (Although prob. not the first MP game to feature it. DICE is a fan of the vehicle and decided to bring it back IN BC2)

(hello, Halo 3?)

@wisconsinista: I too tried getting all the trophies for BFBC and got to the same point as you... it is pretty well impossible to get a platinum for that game I think without logging 100's of hours, which is not worth it. I think they should tone down the requirements for some of their awards so they're not impossible. For example, the saviour kill award? You need 50 points from saviour kills in a round I believe and that is incredibly hard to do. I hope they make it so that if you invest a moderate amount of time you should be able to get a platinum, instead of making it so you have to make playing the game your job.

The gameplay in this looks really smooth and I can't wait to get my hands on it! There's nothing like blowing up a tank close range with C4 or AT mines... so thrilling! I was getting all jittery thinking about all the battlefield moments while watching that vid.

Joystiq forewarned us that the trohpies for BFBC were insanely difficult (e.g. probably not worth your time).

I play not for trophies. I play for fun, victory, and glory (not in any particular order).

No, don't you know HALO 3 is the pioneer of FPS ideas?? Before halo 3 fps games didn't have using the iron sights, outdoor environments and jumping.

Seriously, this game looks amazing. The sound effects are great!
