How about still making The Old Republic but not making it look like absolute junk. I know, I know, its a work in progress but that screenshot above looks HORRIBLE. Absolute garbage. Especially compared to current mmorpgs and newer multiplayer games/single player game experiences on mid-range PCs.

Its almost like they are targetting this game towards 8-13 year olds who love all things Jedi and don't care about graphics or gameplay cause I can use a lightsaber!! which so sooooooo coool!

Given how heavily they seem to focusing on story, which the average member of the demographic you reference places far below graphics, I doubt they are catering to them.

Wes, nah they're catering to the intelligent people, not the 20 year old Bro-Gamer losers.

Making a new Battlefront game would make sense... but this is Lucas Arts we are talking about here, they made Fracture instead.

Not everyone wants to be a Jedi, you know! The past 3 or 5 Star Wars games were like 'Only Jedi Allowed'.

Just to confirm what you all already suspect: No, as a matter of fact, 4 no longer exists.

Anybody else wish they'd just leave any form of jedi out as a playable class? They could just make them NPCs, and keep that exclusive, killing machine flair that jedi have been established as. Instead of dragons, final bosses will be jedi.

I kinda agree.

No Sith either. I'm tired of posers trying to achieve my greatness. It's degrading.

And I would love to kill more Jedi...

Nope, don't wish that. I am not going to play as a Jedi or a Sith but as someone who played Star Wars Galaxies at its inception for quite awhile, leaving Jedi's out is horrible. Because eventually they will come up with an idea to add them and it will be ridiculous, just like it was in SWG.

Can someone who is a bigger Star Wars nerd than I am explain why there are Imperials around at the time of the Old Republic?

*waves hand*

Thou shalt not point out flaws in the plot!

Seriously, though...that's a good question. Pushing the limits of 'suspension of disbelief' here, BioWare.

I guess since there were Jedi in Galaxies, despite the violations in canon, they can get away with it. Also, the Imperial Empire is not necessarily the only one.

(puts on nerd glasses and sighs)

They're referring to the SITH empire not the galactic empire that existed in the original trilogy. Apparently no matter which time period your living in, the term "empire" carries with it a certain air of domination and star-destroying. They tried "Sith Republic" and "Sith Confederacy" as well as "Sith Party" and "Sith and the Gang" but for the obvious reasons, these names didn't quite leave the same impression. Therefore, they picked the term "empire" completely oblivious to the fact that five billion years later an extremely old man with an affinity for electricity and his cybernetic backstreet boy would use the term once more.

There is your lore validation. Except to receive an invoice on monday.

Uhm... do you guys know anything about the plot regarding TOR? It's about the war of ye olde Sith Empire that Revan went off to fight in the Unknown Regions and the Old Republic. And uh... Imperial Empire is somewhat redundant. Any Empire is... well, Imperial. I think you're looking for Galactic Empire ;)

Right...

I disregard MMO's in general. BioWare stabbed the fanbase in the back with this one.

And setting it 300 years in the future from KotOR was a cheap shot.

Oh? I thought that it seemed like a fine window of time so that they can implement single-player titles between the end of 2 and before the start of TOR. As far as MMOs go... well, I've had may fair share of the genre so I don't mind it, and I trust Bioware to deliver. It'll be fun playing my own Canderous to my friend's Revan or my own Atton to his Exile, ahaha.

Except there is no intention of making anymore single player titles. KotOR III was canceled by LucasArts between 2004-2005, and BioWare has stated that 'This game is KotOR III, IV, and V!"

Meaning that its content will encompass that of three single player titles, which is just dandy. While it may not be explicitly titled KOTORIII or VII (the latter being a ridiculous idea), I think that there's still potential in the franchise. My faith in BioWare's ability to create a good MMO is compounded by my faith that they won't let the property waste away like Warcraft has.

But hey, this is all conjecture. Honestly, what I'd like to say most is that I'm sorry ta hear that MMOs aren't your cup o tea. Not all genres are for everyone, after all. I hope that something more to your tastes comes along in the future

God forbid someone with a less than $2000 gaming rig can run a game, amirite? I mean, its not like people with PCs that are over a year or two old enjoy gaming.

dammit wtf. =/ Obviously in response to super gaming rig provider, Wes up there. I mean, he's going to give us all new PCs so they have NO CHOICE but to make this game have better graphics, right?
