Woman creates massive Lego Zelda mosaic, takes longer to finish than most Zelda games
Alyse isn't just your usual Legend of Zelda fan -- aside from the drawer full of Link-themed clothing and decorative Majora's Mask cup set sitting in her cupboard, she's now also the proud owner of the gigantic Lego mosaic you see above. The product of her brow's sweat and her hand's work, the mosaic was created for Brickcon, an annual event that celebrates adult Lego hobbyists.
Head on over to her Flickr account for shots of the impressive feat throughout its development (the above shot is of her husband, Remi, and the Lego computer case he built), something Alyse documented because she "was inspired by many of the stained glass artwork from Wind Waker." If we had enough patience to do something like this, we probably wouldn't have jobs on the internet.

I'd pay money to hang that in a hall
Anti-Villian @ Nov 6th 2009 5:30AM
could I take you up on that offer?
esposch @ Nov 6th 2009 5:45AM
Would you pay to hang it in my hall?

It's cool, but not impressive at all. Anyone with enough money for that many Lego bricks, an original image, some graphing paper, and a decent chunk of time could do the same. Even easier since the layout can be, and is, done automatically by computers instead of by hand using graphing paper.

This is beautiful, and you're a tool
hpv @ Nov 6th 2009 5:50PM
Did I say it wasn't beautiful or whatever? I said it isn't impressive. And you're a moron.

It doesn't even really look THAT good, nor is it very large.
Matt @ Nov 6th 2009 7:19AM
Dude. It's made out of freaking LEGOs. It's not supposed to look like something Da Vinci painted. I think that looks amazing considering what he had to work with.
Filthy Assistant @ Nov 6th 2009 7:20AM
Nnnno, not really. Link's mouth is hilarious. I've seen much better Lego mosiacs from people who had even more time on their hands.

omg quit hating!
I think I can pretty much gaurentee that none of us on this blog site will make anything nearly as complex or creative. Give the guy some credit for doing more with his free time then knockin things on the internets!
Filthy Assistant @ Nov 6th 2009 10:21AM
I've written quite a few things that are more creative than making a video game image out of Legos, which in itself is old hat now. I'm pretty sure most have turned to papercraft. I'm not sure what the next Nerd Medium Of Choice will be.

He wanted to create a Phantom Hourglass one...
...but he had to do one part over and over again!

Nice job.
GG @ Nov 6th 2009 10:33AM
A GUY did not make that. It was his girlfriend. He said so on one of the Flickr pages.

Someone at Traveller's Tales probably saw the title of this post and did a double take before running to their boss screaming about their idea for the next great franchise to do a Lego game with. And actually it could be pretty awesome if done right.
CH3BURASHKA @ Nov 6th 2009 7:21PM
It's effing awesome, but I'm holding out on some stained-glass windows, a la Wind Waker intro.

I enjoy this very much considering I'm a huge Zelda fan, and the fact that I work at one of the LEGO stores in the US.
