"now all you 360 lovers can suck it!!!!! this game looks great." – natevberg, YouTube commenter
No insight from us relating to the recently leaked footage of the training mission from Modern Warfare: Reflex (and, prior to that, the original Modern Warfare) is required. Mr. natevberg seems to sum up the raw emotion of the video beautifully. To see the modern waggle controls in action, check out the video after the jump.

Shit like that gives me further reason to hate Activision. Screwing PC AND Wii users over.

oh right! I forgot that the Wii in standard def looks just as good as the 360 in HD, my bad! shut up!

So is it just me or do first person shooters on Wii just naturally look ridiculous? Honestly, if the whole screen doesn't move with my reticule, it just looks ridiculous to me. Same with Resident Evil 5. There's just something not right about that...

Yes, it's just you. Why should the reticule stay static in middle of screen anyway?
I was all ready to use the 'gag reflex' pun (which somebody else did, unjustifiably) but given the earlier screenshots, um, this actually looks fine. It doesn't look as good as PS/360 - NO SHIT SHERLOCK. But it looks pretty good for a Wii game.
I won't be playing it, hate FPS games (yes I only watched the video out of curiosity for how good/bad the graphics actually were, and to see if I could use the pun); and to be honest I suspect most people who like FPS games don't have a Wii as their only console, so I dunno how well this is going to sell...

Figure of speech much? If I'm the only one offset by a independently moving reticule then why do most shooter fans play on consoles or PC, and why was Resident Evil 5 so heavily criticized for it's aiming system (totally putting aside the lack of run and gun)?
In real life, when you move a gun around to aim it somewhere, your eyes travel with it, and so does your field of vision. In FPS games, your field of vision is represented by the space on the screen, and the focal point of your eyes represents your reticule. It's both illogical and impossible for a human being to move the focal point of their eye sight without also bringing their field of vision with it.
That clear break in logic and practicality is why I think FPS games that have an independent reticule (see: most FPS titles on the Wii) are just plain stupid. I don't have an issue with using the Wiimote to control my aim. I think that's a nice alternative to an analog stick. I just think it's stupid to have an independent reticule.
I feel I have the same looseness and ease of aiming on the Wii as I do on a PC, so there's no reason why the reticule can't just stay in the middle of the screen like it does on a PC.

But when you actually go to shoot you line up your gun with your focal point for the most part. You're much less accurate if you're shooting from your peripheral. I know we're having the whole realism vs gaming discussion thing here in a sense, but it's not like realism is making the game worse or less fun in this case. Something that was more realistic was being used as the standard for years and years, so when I see something working differently for seemingly no logical reason, it looks a little ridiculous to me.

@Kenny goof: Funny that PC sims like the original Operation Flashpoint have independently moving crosshair. Lol @ you trying to enforce your opinion as undisputed fact when you're, in fact, so very wrong in your evaluation. This method works well. You're out of your league trying to criticise it as inferior (based on realism, trolol), because it's simply not, and aiming and looking around in Wii FPS titles is still infinitely better than with dual analog sticks, as long as there are enough options to tweak the response speed to advanced gamers' liking (which some games did neglect initially, but most don't anymore).
If you even noticed (you didn't), there are options to keep the crosshair in the middle of the screen when using turrets (where you can't turn around behind you anyway) and when using the iron sights of a gun. Why? Because it's the one drawback on Wii aiming. With a mouse you can just raise your mouse for a split second, center and put it down again, and you can swirl around in circles of the same direction all you want. On Wii you can't have an equivalent to "raising" the mouse with the remote, you could waste a button on it but for most users it would just feel cumbersome, and you'd probably rail on it for that reason also, hence this aiming and "screen pushing" turning method.
But, guess what, it works extremely well. PC gamer here but Wii is the only system that comes close to the speed and precision of PC FPS titles, you can keep and enjoy your dual analog setup all you want but odn't kid yourself in that it's a better method than the console you appear to hate so much and feel so threatened it got this game or something. It takes all of 5 minutes for a PC gamer to get used to Wii controls and see how much better than dual analog it really is, even if it's not as good as keyboard and mouse. It's a shame they don't support the classic controller as an option so that any decent gamer could show the likes of you how much better the system is in a way you can't dispute. Maybe in the next COD (though if they do support it I'm sure the likes of you will jump to say something like "lol first competent Wii fps. they realised the controls suck and now you too can play good with a classic pad!" or some shit like that), lol. PS360 gamers can be so damn ignorant and pathetic when responding to Wii topics or when discussing FPS games in general, lol.
Moving on to people around here judging the Wii due to its visuals. Lol again, for all the flak PC gamers get for their elitism, you guys are far beyond that with your sub-HD resolutions for most games, yet you still rail the Wii, like you see me going in PS360 threads just to bash your graphics or something, going in every single thread to laugh at the pathetic resolution you try to run the same games I do on PC, with far lesser settings, and how you usually settle for 30 fps (MW being the exception, but then you get it at less than 720p, lol) just because it allows games to have prettier screenshots in order to literaly fool you people into thinking it's such a grand looker when the 30 fps nulifies all of that the minute you start playing it. Would you like your PS360 stories to be filled with comments like that? No, you wouldn't, so shut the frak up in Wii stories. If I can go back to Wii games like Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy and see them artistically beautiful despite the fact I normally game on resolutions of over 1080p, it's only your fanboyism that makes you rail the Wii for its visuals or anything else. Get over it, gamer wannabes.

Oh I wanted to add you're basically "screen pushing" with an analog stick for camera control also, except you push by holding your analog stick to a position, as opposed to holding the cursor at a position, and the added downside that you don't have the immediate near-instant aim at any part of the screen you want that you get with the Wii. So, the Wii's control is like a cross of dual analogs for turning and PC aiming, not as good as the latter but definitely better than the former. With the Wii you can aim at any part of the screen @ 1:1 and use that to "push" the screen where you want it to be on top of that. With analog sticks you push the cursor and screen @ the same time and aim much more cumbersomely. End.

I've never played or seen anything from Operation Flashpoint, though I looked up a couple videos from the sequel and it has a locked reticule. Why would they, knowing for well that an independent reticule was far superior, change it back to the gaming standard, locked reticule for the sequel? Sorry, but I don't think that makes any sense, so I don't think that comparison holds any weight, nor does it make me "so very wrong".
Moving on, cut the condescending bullshit. Taking into account your repeated comments about the superiority and precision of a PC control scheme, and how inferior the console control scheme are, I really don't think it's all that unfair to call you a PC elitist, because you show all the stereotypical signs of being one. I feel like I've had this conversation a million times before, but I'll bite. I don't give a flying fuck about precision. A controller is, and all will be a more convenient method of gaming, and the pressure sensitive inputs on it make it more usable in the long run.
I've played the Wii, and a couple shooters on it, and while it's much more convenient then a PC, it's still less so then a controller. The fact that the reticule often moves independently from the field of vision, like someone whose eyes are two slow to catch up to their hands or someone who purposely shoots out of their peripheral vision, doesn't help things. Not to mention the idea that moving your gun all the way to the left will bring your head and your eyes farther to the left for the same amount of distance, just not to same point. Again, what form or reality does that accurately represent?
So to wrap things up, to be totally honest, you seem like an incredibly misguided fanboy. To make the ridiculous assumption that I "hate" the Wii based on my comments (which I say nothing of the like), or the idea that I feel "threatened" by it because it got a last gen looking version of a game I played two years ago, is absolutely ridiculous. Take a chill pill, grow up, and please don't waste your time posting here until you can actually have a conversation where you discuss your opinion and not call people out, because it's really, really childish.

Flashpoint 2 is not even by the same developers so obviously it doesn't have the same options as the first. And you wrote 4 paragraphs with the only real argument being "it's more comfortable" which is a pretty stupid argument itself, I don't see what's uncomfortable in a mouse and what's uncomfortable with the Wii remote. You're probably some kind of mentally challenged individual that has never played a Wii despite claiming he has and thinks he has to exend his arm far out to aim or some shit like you see in the glorified family commercials. Do you also think you have to curl into a ball in Metroid Prime 3, stupid? The motion required with a Wii remote is even less than what's required by a mouse, tiny wrist motions while keeping your hand rested in your lap much like a standard controller, with the ADDED comfort that you don't have to keep your hands joined together thanks to the nunchuck being separate. I can scratch my nose or put an arm behind my head resting it and keep playing just fine. Yeah, so uncomfortable! This type of shitty argument is what shows you're the fanboy and not myself. Try again, and go play a Wii or PC FPS properly you noob.

How nice, they even kept the crappy AI where your squad mates just stand there and soak up the bullets. Gotta love the "realism" in that. Anyhoo, I have to say looks like an excellent port.
Single player COD campaigns have been stale since COD2. I'm only interested in how the MP runs. If it guns good with the Wii-mote, I may dust off the Wii and give this one a try when taking breaks from MW2 Domination sessions.
I say give it a chance.

Wii owners should really be pleased that they're not being ripped-off with a half-arsed port of a really great game!
I applaud Treyarch for investing the time to make this a quality title!
