PSP Go owners make Final Fantasy VII the top PSN seller for October

Three PSP titles appear on the PSN bestsellers list for October. It makes sense, considering the launch of the all-digital PSP Go. Surprisingly, the much-anticipated Gran Turismo PSP didn't top the charts. Instead, PSone classic Final Fantasy VII took the lead once again, undoubtedly boosted by nostalgic RPG players wanting to relive Cloud Strife's cross-dressing adventure on the Go. Here's the full list:

1. Final Fantasy VII (PS3/PSP)
2. Zombie Apocalypse (PS3)
3. TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled (PS3)
4. .deTuned (PS3)
5. UNO (PS3)
6. Gran Turismo (PSP)
7. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (PS3)
8. Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest For Booty (PS3)
9. Critter Crunch (PS3)
10. God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP)

Konami's Zombie Apocalypse stood as the top new entry, while interactive art experience .deTuned managed to snag a few purchases from Trophy hunters looking for some of the easiest achievements ever created. Critter Crunch's low sales numbers managed to snag it a 9th position -- which either means sales picked up after the free demo, or October was not a very good month for PSN sales at all.

I don't know how I missed this but correct me if I'm wrong:
If I download FFVII off PSN, I can play it on the ps3 & the psp? Or are they 2 separate downloads?

Does this go for all the ps1 games on psn or just FF games?

i have in my brothers psp crash bandicoot,spyro the dragon and mgs

ff i didnt cause it takes space and prefer to play on the ps3 tv...

I believe most PS1 titles are just a straight copy over to the PSP...

Any PSOne Classic you download from the PSN is playable on your PS3 or your PSP. It's a single game, single download and it works on both.

A little off topic but THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyine for doing the right thing and NOT putting any of the over priced "Minis" into the top 10!!! Maybe it will force Sony into examing the business model for the overpriced crap they are trying to get us to download...

Epic failure of a news report Joystiq. FF7 has been on and off the top for quite some time. It is not bemuse of the PSP Go...

Final Fantasy VII is a good game, yes. (but I prefer FFIX above all PS1 games.)

When you don't have a UMD drive and downloading games from PSN is the only option, PSP Go owners probably came across and fancied a download.

Heh... I bought FFVII on my PSP Go, even though i could play it on my other PSP with CFW, i just wanted to do :D. I rarely play with my other PSP, in fact i'm not realy using it anymore. I still play on NDS sometimes. It makes you respect games and their creators more if you actually buy the game, it makes the game even better for me :)

Surprised .detuned is up so high. It's one of the few things I've bought off the PS store and wanted a refund on lol

Critter Crunch's sells spike due to VGEVO!!!

FF7 on the PSP is great, but it's pathetic that people are playing for a game that many have already bought previously when all Sony is doing is making an image of the game and slapping it up on PSN. It's disgusting.

When this hit PSN, all those eBay sellers and used game stores that try to sell this game for $50-$100 let out a collective "damn!" as their overpriced game suddenly lost value. I mean, the game sold millions of copies. It's COMMON. It shouldn't be more than $20 used anyway. Anything to knock these outlets down a few pegs is a good thing.

Oh, it's not as if the local sued ripoff stores lowered their prices on the PSN-released stuff(FF7 and SOTN still cost $50 apiece locally) but no one's buying them. That's what these stores get for paying maybe $4 in trade credit for their copies.
