So you want to play the Bayonetta demo early, do you?

Sega just announced that 40,000 lucky Xbox 360 owners will get extremely early access to a demo for the upcoming action game Bayonetta. To be considered for the prize, gamers must register for a free Sega Pass -- essentially the publisher's newsletter -- and enter for a chance to be selected on the official Bayonetta demo site.

Registration for the "contest" will be open from Monday, November 9 to Friday, November 13. Winners will be notified on Monday, November 16. Those not selected will then be referred to as "the group least likely to win a 'boot-gun thing' firing contest" ... or PlayStation 3 players. Should you not get selected, you might want to take advantage of making a Japanese account.

What kind of a fucking contest is that? It takes all of five minutes to make a Japanese account and grab it. Why don't they just go ahead and release the goddamn demo in North America (and Europe)? The thing is already entirely in English!

Re-read the last sentence. Then go sit in a corner and think about your egregious use of Flash. If you're referring to the marketplace, however, I can safely say that you have never used the Japanese marketplace: it is organized in the exact same way as any other marketplace, and Bayonetta is conveniently listed under its English name.

No, I haven't used the Japanese Marketplace, and to be honest... I just wanted to use it.

Really not a fan of this latest "early demo access" marketing bullshit. It's right up there with preorder bonuses.

Someone should invent a system where you can play on the servers early before the game releases...

I know there are tons of pirates who argue that they download the full game to use as a demo since the publishers don't but he is circumventing microsofts region protection, even if it is a demo

Yeah ive had the "japanese" demo for weeks now. I personally can't wait for this game. I'm tempted to just import a ps3 copy. Thats how much i enjoyed it.

He downloaded the demo he could have gotten to the marketplace for free, so no, it's not piracy. Downloading the full ripped game and playing that on a modded xbox, that's pirating.

PS3 has blurrier graphics...

If you only have a PS3 there's not a single thing wrong with the graphics. You want to have a pissing contest? Sure the other version might pee a little further... but then you're just playing with piss.

something like this, maybe 6, 7 years ago would had ben "OMFG!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR IT" but since having overseas products this days is something so common that now importing aint that hard

The marketing for this game sucks. It's a DEMO: if we're going to get it eventually, then we're not in a hurry now, are we?
You can get the 2 Demos (on XBL & PSN) right now using a Japanese account.
The game's already been released in Japan (both versions). Only the 360 version is region locked. I'm starting to think Platinum Games wants their game to flop.

i downloaded the demo off the japanese PSN at LEAST a month ago. runs flawlessly, no pirating necessary.

Do I need my xbox modded to use disc that i burned demo's onto?

The Xbox Bayonetta demo (and all other demos) run on discs on all unmodified systems. I did the same thing with the early RE5 Japanese demo.

why are they making it exclusive to the Xbox360? What about the PS3 users jezz...I have a 360 but I don't know how to connect it! lol..

Fun little demo. I dl'ed the demo and burned it to disc. I'll probably get the game. A lot of frenetic action and sometimes hard to keep track of yourself, but overall, enjoyable.

Congratulations to the winners of the demo. I'll be playing the full version in the meantime.

Here's how you get early access to the Bayonetta demo, step by step:

#1 - Make a Japanese 360 account
#2 - Sign onto XBL with said account
#3 - Download Bayonetta demo
#4 - ???
#5 - Profit

Not bad, but am waiting for devils inferno to see what that's like.
