Select GameStops in NY, OH and PA selling Modern Warfare 2 already [update: Activision responds]

Poor, poor GameStop. As the gaming public's anticipation for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 approached critical mass, they faltered in their loyalty, and took their business to small "mom and pop" game retailers who had broken the game's street date. Fortunately for the retail juggernaut, Activision showed compassion for its plight, and agreed to let certain GameStops in a few Northeast states start selling the game before Tuesday in order to help combat these vicious local businesses.
We've been receiving tips all morning from folks living in New York and Pennsylvania (and Kotaku reports Ohio as well) stating that they were able to find the game on sale at their local GameStop. If you live in one of those Northeastern states, you might want to go ahead and call your local 'Stop to see if it's one of the stores which was granted special permission. If it is, then you can go straight to hell, you lucky jerk.

Here, in Israel the stores have been selling the game since last week, 75$ for PC, 100$ for Xbox 360/PS3, 130$ for Hardend edition and 250$ for Prestige.

Woowww, that's really pathetic. EVERYONE is hatin' on me. I uploaded an unboxing vid and a review on the NVG's and 4 out of every 5 people said something nasty.
And over here, I get -heartsjust for having it....

But I never gloated, that's the thing. I never said "Hey you fuckers, I got the game and you don't, you blow huge donkey dicks. This is the best game evar and I'm playing it early..."
Even in my unboxing vid and review, that's all I did. Unbox it, and show how the NVG's worked.
I just mentioned that I had it, I didn't even say how great it was.
God, this is sad. Maybe I should gloat, in retaliation to the assholism that I get from people....

I upvoted your explanation of not gloating about having the game, but I have to admit I downvoted your original comment. It is the tongue face, it seems like you are sticking to everyone else. It seems trivial, but that is what made it for me.
That said, people didn't need to be throwing profanity around because of it.

Ohio and Pennsylvania aren't in the Northeast. Ohio is in the midwest and PA is in the mid-Atlantic. New York, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, and ME are the Northeast.

...and seeing as how PA is above the Mason-Dixon line, which separates the North and South...I'd say its in the Northeast corridor as well (not to mention I live in PA).

@wayne nj is considered north east, and part of the tri-state (ny,nj,ct) pa is more mid-atlantic/ohio river valley, except for philly. but then again, philly should just come on over to jersey cause it doesn't fit into the PA state of mind. its always shitty in PA, as opposed to philly, where it is always sunny;p now, let me go play my codmw2 copy i bought, supporting my local mom and pop store! lets do a gamestop boycott, just because they don't give us full value for our trade-ins....

I don't know... it might be pretty entertaining to watch someone try to roll it. Mahouneko spins a bankrupt and goes nuts. Flips the wheel on it's side and rolls this giant wheel at the audience screaming "I'd like to solve the puzzle, bitches!"
Or maybe I'm just angry that I can't be playing MW2 right now as well. Guess that's kinda like lose a turn without a free spin.

Congrats, I would only play through the single player tho, as all multiplayer levels will be reset on Monday at Midnight for a clean playing field.
