Wow...EA wants to become profitable by trying to revive a dead franchise.

That sounds a little like Sega to me.

Lol. Well this could work, but I am sure they are worried more about sales than bringing the gaming community another good shooter. They are probably going to make it modern or something to compete with MW2 and upcoming games like MAG and BF:BC2.

Actually, it was pretty well reviewed on Wii initially. Multiplayer was called the best of the year on Wii at it's release. Too bad the character models in multiplayer were shitty and it never caught my attention personally.

Medal of Honor you used to great. Hopefully they do a war that hasn't been done to death, or properly (Vietnam, Korean War, etc...)

With the success of Battlefield, and Call of Duty I expect they will go into modern times however.

Personally I think they should go back a few years and do a few things:

Medal of Honor: 1776
Medal of Honor: French and Indian War
Medal of Honor: Custer's Last Stand
Medal of Honor: Gettysburg

Allied Assault and Spearhead were fantastic games and I got years of online play out of MoHAA, but none of the recent Medal of Honor entries have convinced me that they were really worth playing.

Dont see the point tbqh. Seems like Battlefield is gonna be their big hit when it comes to first person shooters(as it deserves to be, BC2 looks amazing). Why waste time on a dead series?

Oh right, no one cares about that conflict.

This is one of the most ignorant things I have ever read.

You do realise that proportionally a lot more troops are dying in Afghanistan than Iraq right? And that the conflict there is considered to be a lot more dangerous for troops than the "war" in Iraq is right?

Some people are really dumb.

Obviously you misread my comment. As a two tour veteran to Iraq and someone scheduled to go to Afghanistan next year, I am aware of the discord between the public and the war. This conflict has been going on for the past 8 years and both the public and media have turned a blind eye to it for at least seven years of it. If you want to compare casualty rates, Iraq still is higher than Afghanistan. So before you call someone "dumb" or "ignorant" make sure you read the original comment correctly.

This could be interesting. I think if they want to have the edge over Call of Duty they should focus more on story. In terms of soundtrack and general aesthetic, MoH always had more heart than CoD, which seems more intent on glorifying war. Of all the war games out there, not nearly enough make any attempt at creating memorable characters, incorporating player choice, or crafting a deep story.
Okay, maybe being story-focused isn't necessarily what they need for the market. But I'd sure as hell like to see it, and it'd be much more likely to warrant a purchase from me than CoD.

Are you serious? Honestly? If anything IW is trying to show people what war is really like, and how it can honestly turn out. You played a character who was in the middle of an atomic blast as he died. I actually felt sad when Price, Griggs, and Gaz died. You spend most of the game with some or all of them, and have to watch them die. In most shooters the only ones who die are the random NPCs that have no names, but in COD4 the closest characters are killed. It made me feel like they were real people, and how things can really turn out on the other side of the news broadcast.

I love how when a studio gains mass recognition, and for good reason, people decide from some backwards part of their brain that they are just doing it for money, or are trying to hatch some evil plot to look better. Is it so hard to believe a big studio who has made many lucrative titles can actually truly care about their game?

Earth Shattering Announcement:

Three-quarters of the guys at Infinity Ward of sick of taking Activision's guff, and they're going to form a new studio that, under EA's partner program, will develop future iterations of the Medal of Honor franchise :)

I hope so. I know when they announced MW2 they were all "This isn't branded as COD" and well, it got branded COD. I don't know if that was Activision's Nazi rule or the IW guys getting cold feet. I really hope they go back to being independent. Lord knows they could make some huge bank.
