Second season of Xbox Live's 1 vs. 100 starts Nov. 19

If you've been missing your trivia fix on Xbox Live, you should be happy to learn that Microsoft has dated the second season of its Xbox Live quiz-'em-up, 1 vs. 100. Expect the game to return on November 19 at 5:00 PDT, where it'll dish out another 14 weeks' worth of questions -- and this time around, your chance to be The One or a part of The Mob will be determined by one thing: score.

Multiple-choice maniacs will be able to play the new season of 1 vs. 100 on a daily basis through themed Extended Play sessions every night, including "Finish the Lyrics," "80's" night and -- yes, we're totally serious -- "Vampires." Finally, a theme night your 12-year-old sister can get behind!

Great.. I haven't seen Twilight. So much for a high score.

1st: Great name.
2nd: If it is anything like the last season, you can pad your score with the hourly, non-themed games. It is based on lifetime score and all. Only people who could get as close as possible to the maximum season score are playing in shifts, or robots.

Its sad we live in a world now that when Vampires are brought up, peoples think of 12 year old girls. Remember when Vampires were cool?

Yeah, I remember. Then, Twilight happened.

Women find vampires sexy. This is nothing new. Remember all those Anne Rice novels. Shit Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise were cast to be vampires in the same movie.

This is just re-branded for teenagers and tweens. Big deal.

Look at it this way at least in 6+ years you can still get laid at a Halloween party dressed as a vampire.

I'm pretty sure in 6+ years they will have moved away from vampires and will have marketed zombies towards the tweens.

Zombies that are undead cause that's the most emo thing ever!

I was in a Target the other day and walked by the Youth book section. Just a sea of black covers with the occasional red markings to indicate yet another vampire series. They should just rename the section to Vampire Books and be done with it.

I remember when Vampires talked like pimps, wore capes, turned into bats, lived in castles.

I find it a good thing that these horror genres are progressing, if Zombies weren't able to run we wouldn't have a fun game like L4D.

Vampires=Dracula, Harker, etc. They do not sparkle/look emo or angsty/star in stupid films.

I would love to know where you're getting this information, everything i know about vampires is from from works of fiction.

It's a long story. It involves me being told by my mother that if I wanted to take the truck to college, I had to escort my sister and her friends to this stupid movie.

Twenty minutes in, I pulled out my iPod and turned on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Best film ever.

But 20 minutes in there were no sparkles. Aha! The web of lies grows...

I was starting to think you need to be a vampire, avatar wise to be The One. At least until I managed to get it during the preview. The set has changed BTW and The One walks down to the podium.

There is a new Wolfman film coming out and the new Twilight movie is all about teenaged, buff, shirtless werewolves... just like you remembered them.

Sounds about right, all I can remember is Teen Wolf.

I was in the beta from day one and but lost interest and never heard the real season for real prizes actually started....

They started to give out prizes near the end of the beta, but I agree. There never was a very clear delineation that I saw between Beta and Season 1.

will it be free?

will there be more creative attempts to get me into the mob/one or give me more to do as part of the crowd?

if the answer to either of those are no - not interested.

Surprised more people aren't talking about the actual game. Personally, a pure score means that there will be a handful of people who are in the mob/the One unless they put some kind of block after you've won/been part of the Mob. I remember from the beta people being "impossibly" fast on their answers and seeing the same people whenever I played.

So there are my concerns.

I just want achievements, the game is fun as it is even though its impossible to be in the Mob. Last season I got in the Mob, MS somehow screwed up their servers and I ended up in the Canadian 1vs100 and hardly anyone was playing.

That's such bullshit. If I wanted to be "The One" I am forced to spend my entire day playing quizzes. It should be selected at random, to give everyone equal opportunity.

All of this talk just makes me realize how far ahead of it's time Monster Squad was.
