Resident Evil 4: Mobile Edition ported to Zeebo
Zeebo, the 3G console available in countries like Brazil, Russia and China, reminds us that right after food, water and shelter, access to Resident Evil 4 should be a top priority for all developing nations. It was revealed yesterday that Capcom will use the MascotCapsule eruption engine to port the well-received mobile version of RE 4 to the platform.
You know, it's funny, we know Resident Evil 4 was a classic, but we never expected it to become the new Tetris -- ported to every system imaginable. Which reminds us: Shinji Mikami, be forewarned: You're probably going to have to grow a beard.

I think Doom has been ported to an equally insane amount of consoles.
CJLopez @ Nov 10th 2009 11:48AM
i'm with ya.
I think the ist goes like this
1.- Tetris
2.- Pong
3.- PacMan
4.- Snake game
5.- Doom
6.- Re4?

I think Doom should be at least #3 on that list, if not #2.

Sup with the Purple Ganados?
Flavio @ Nov 10th 2009 10:52AM
that is a little racist... I mean, I am brazillian and we have absolutely NO problem having access to food, shelter and water... and im not like... "privileged"... I'm a regular guy :D
KieranD212 @ Nov 10th 2009 10:58AM
Yeah i didn't think that Brazil was that bad off its actually getting pretty good now.
I don't think anyone struggles for at least the basics in Brazil.
Those arrogant YANKS!
Resident Evil 4 is a popular game and that Zeebo thing was panned by reviewers in Brazil i think.
Ashkental @ Nov 10th 2009 10:59AM
It's a joke...
Kinda irresponsible joke, but nontheless..
RKN @ Nov 10th 2009 11:28AM
Brazilians are a race? I dunno why we use "racist" for race and nationality. We could use "nationalist", but that's already used in a different context.
Nook @ Nov 10th 2009 11:40AM
I think you all missed it. It wasn't a dig at ANY group of peoples, it was merely a comment saying the game is obviously that good....since it's come to many, many more plats than initally planned for.
At least I read no racial implications into the comment at all.
Maybe you all are racist! :P
samfish [wants to know: do midgets have night vision?] @ Nov 10th 2009 12:45PM
There's nothing really wrong with the comment. He called Brazil a developing nation...which it is. There are a lot of "regular" people there who live a relatively comfortable lifestyle, but the nation also has it's fair share of problems like crushing poverty, corruption, areas of general lawlessness, etc.
Ashkental @ Nov 10th 2009 10:57AM
In some point of my life i think of going to a store near my parent's house and getting me a Zeebo (I live in brazil)
But only when i have spare money, and by spare money i mean, when i buy every PS3 and 360 game there is.
Engerz @ Nov 10th 2009 11:12AM
Still waiting for the PC port on Steam. Come on Capcom!
Rodrigo @ Nov 10th 2009 11:19AM
The PC Port SUCKS as much as the BRIC joke.
dont buy ;)
RKN @ Nov 10th 2009 11:28AM
Yes, the PC port did initially suck but thanks to the flexibility of the PC and power of its community, they've made a shitload of mods that even make it better than the console versions.
creid @ Nov 10th 2009 11:18AM
I was sure this was going to end in a "Shinji Mikami cutting off his own head" joke.
Eh @ Nov 10th 2009 11:36AM
It looks better than the PC port
CJLopez @ Nov 10th 2009 11:47AM
you never tried the "high resolution expansion pack" of the PC version i see.
Nook @ Nov 10th 2009 11:48AM
RE4 is such an awesome game, it should be like Pac Man should be - standard issue to every human born and capable of being played on items such as a watch or scientific calculator.
So this is good news, assuming it controls great, or at least pretty good and has the full quest.
KeenCommander @ Nov 10th 2009 12:25PM
PSP version WITH the ability to save/load anywhere (which should be in any and every handheld game) please. That might get me to actually play it, except I'm not sure I'd spend money on the game twice...already owning the Wii version, just not having gotten very far into it.
samfish [wants to know: do midgets have night vision?] @ Nov 10th 2009 12:47PM
I'm tempted to play this on the iPhone, but I can't bring myself to spend the money on something I'm reasonably sure won't be that good...
Nook @ Nov 10th 2009 2:51PM
well.....pffftt...who the hell am I supposed to count on now to spend their money so I can find out if it's worth mine?
I guess we have a good ole fashioned stand off then.
Carlos @ Nov 10th 2009 4:25PM
Well, I spent money and bought RE4 for my iPod touch, but I have yet to play it :P
Nook @ Nov 10th 2009 6:49PM
my wife got the other RE game on her iTouch, she liked it quite well, I played it and thought it wasn't half bad, got me kinda hoping maybe a beefed up version would be out on PSN to play on PSP at some point... There's an adjustment period in the control department, no doubt.
Asmerom (PSN: neon6plz) (XBL: reo6) (Waiting for NMH2) @ Nov 10th 2009 6:27PM
Has anyone noticed the blue Ganados?
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Nov 11th 2009 12:37AM
Yes, the 2nd guy who commented.
Asmerom (PSN: neon6plz) (XBL: reo6) (Waiting for NMH2) @ Nov 11th 2009 1:30AM
Oh sorry, didn't see that.
