Sanitarium now available on GoG.com

If you're going to spend today playing an old adventure game, we can't imagine a more apt choice than Sanitarium, a tale of one man struggling to escape a world gone mad.

Gotta love GoG. I'm still enjoying Fallout 2 from them :].
Also, I've never seen this on an article before:
"(X) ago".
I guess I hit the refresh page the exact second the article struck. Bwahahahahaha.
YAY GOG
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 10th 2009 11:34PM
I've seen the (X) on a banner article a few times. You must be fast. And powerful.
I need an apprentice, but you'll have to compete with Kotick first.
Special Agent Steve @ Nov 10th 2009 11:55PM
Well, I'm tied up Thursday and Friday, as well as Saturday. Sundays are reserved for the "other" category. Oh, I can set up a duel to the death December 22 2012.
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 10th 2009 11:58PM
Hey, schedule it with Kotick, not me. You've got to compete with him to be my apprentice.
You'll never be able to beat me.
Bobby Kotick @ Nov 11th 2009 12:26AM
Dueling me won't be so easy, as my superpowers include emo human resources, lotsa money, and my most powerful ablity, the Copy/Paste vision.
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 11th 2009 12:31AM
You all didn't think Bobby was born evil, did you? He had to learn from someone...
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 10th 2009 11:33PM
Speaking of soundtracks, did anyone else know that the Dragon Age soundtrack is included on the Collectors Edition extra disc? I didn't even know until a friend pointed it out. Just pull it up in Explorer and the files are right there.
Phylogenetics @ Nov 10th 2009 11:55PM
Speaking of Explorers, has anyone noticed that Meriwether Lewis first saw action in the militia when he was sent to put down the Whiskey rebellion in 1794?
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 10th 2009 11:58PM
And that the 2010 Ford Explorer has inflatable seat belts?
Phylogenetics @ Nov 11th 2009 12:01AM
Speaking of inflatable, my girlfriend needs me right now. L8r.
RKN @ Nov 11th 2009 11:07AM
You bought the PC version Darth? Thought you didn't care for PC gaming?
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith @ Nov 11th 2009 11:27AM
No, it works for the 360 version too!
And I like PC gaming. I just don't want to spend the cash on a new PC.
But that's why I play at my friends house...his LAPTOP runs Crysis...
sleepypersons @ Nov 10th 2009 11:57PM
Games amazing.
DVersion @ Nov 11th 2009 12:03AM
Holy Shit! I was just thinking about this game! Seriously!
SpiffyBiscuits @ Nov 11th 2009 5:39AM
I was as well. I remember being so creeped the fuck out by "Mother" and digging up Stumpy's sister..Wow can't believe I remember this stuff. Oh and fuck that carnival level.
P.S this game rocks
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Nov 11th 2009 12:26AM

This game freaked me out when I was a kid. I was like eight or nine when I played it.
er ic @ Nov 11th 2009 5:39PM

Welcome to where time stands still,
No-one leaves and no-one will...
Moon is full, never seems to change,
Just labeled mentally deranged...
pika2000 @ Nov 11th 2009 1:33AM
Sanitarium, what an awesome (disturbing) adventure game. I think you can still find it on CD-ROM for cheap at most bargain-bin software shelves (together with cheapo old kids software stuff). I missed adventure games like this. I hope they will return (oh, and Gabriel Knight too).
Crayfish @ Nov 11th 2009 1:57AM
Never heard of this game but I'm definitely intrigued
Soiden @ Nov 11th 2009 1:39PM
You should. I discovered it a couple years ago, and I was amazed by it. It's an amazing game.
Discotheque @ Nov 11th 2009 2:30AM
So when is GOG gonna drop Planescape: Torment (easily the best written game ever) and Grim Fandango on us?
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Nov 11th 2009 5:23AM
IIIIIIII LOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEE THIIISS GAAAAAAMMEEEEEE!!!!!!
BlackBeltJones @ Nov 11th 2009 6:39AM
How does this game compare to something like Baldur's Gate or Arcanum? On par?
George McBain @ Nov 11th 2009 9:48AM
Can't compare since they are completely different genres (adventure point-and-click to CRPG).
You can google it or look on youtube (Rarcoan has playthrough vids).
James Lockwood @ Nov 11th 2009 7:21AM
Two exclamation marks - the person that penned the script needs putting in a sanitarium.
favian @ Nov 11th 2009 7:45AM
you new school gamers should pick this up, its amazing.
JJ @ Nov 11th 2009 7:50AM
Can anyone who got it tell me what version number it is? Sanitarium had a nasty problem in the original disc version that made the game unable to continue at some point. If I remmeber right it was some weird type of thing where an event wouldn't happen when it was supposed to or something. Don't remember specifics but I know a friend and I were both affected by it.
Courtney @ Nov 11th 2009 12:46PM
As far as I know, GoG sells games as the most up to date officially patched version. The cool thing though is that it's just the original game files, no DRM or special file formatting or anything. So even if it wasn't, you can still patch it yourself and you can apply any non-official/fan made patches too. I've verified this with the Fallout releases.
SnatchTease @ Nov 11th 2009 10:48AM
The climax of that game for me was the 2nd level. It's where you meet all the deformed kids, and was the creepiest time in the game. Damn, I bought this a decade ago.
Laughton @ Nov 11th 2009 1:54PM
Awesome! One of the best games ever, take it from Mr. Laughton! ;-)
