Final Fantasy XIII trailer coming Home tomorrow [Update]
While we're certainly happy to hear that a brand new Final Fantasy XIII trailer is coming to the theater in PlayStation Home tomorrow, we can't help but be a little put out too. Is this the announcement that had been hinted at on Sunday? Because we were honestly hoping for something a bit more ... announcementy.
On the bright side, maybe there's some real news coming and the trailer's just a nice compliment, or on the even brighter side, maybe there's big news nestled lovingly within the clip. On the double-triple bright side, the Home theaters are also showing a sneak preview of Steven Seagal: Lawman onFriday Wednesday, so there's no way you're not logging out of Home happier than when you logged in.
Update: We incorrectly reported the time for "Lawman." It will debut in Home on Wednesday, Nov 18 for one hour at 5pm PST/8pm EST.

Maybe...it's a trailer to announce the impending worldwide release? Please?
Torque_AOD @ Nov 12th 2009 9:29AM
I would rather have the demo. Thank you.
Temidien @ Nov 12th 2009 9:32AM
Steven Seagal and Final Fantasy in the same post. This is why I read Joystiq.

I'm still perplexed as to WHY Steven Seagal has has a show....like seriously...I was cool with him doing just straight to DVD movies over the last 5+ years.....between him and Wesley Snipes my Netflix stays full

It's because of his AMAZING emotional range!

LMAO!!
Temidien @ Nov 12th 2009 10:26AM
Excellent.
Discotheque @ Nov 12th 2009 10:54AM
Well he IS a cop now so good on him, give him a show. It would be interesting to see him use his kung-fu action skills practically. Let's hope for the season finale he hunts down Wesley Snipe's tax evading ass.
Now THAT would be an episode.
rickjamess04 @ Nov 12th 2009 11:03AM
@Discotheque:
Brilliant! Then in season 2 he can hunt down Nic Cage. And then in season 3 he can join up with Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Just imagine how awesome his show would be if it co-starred Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme.
Obie @ Nov 12th 2009 11:22AM
Man, yet I will still watch that show, it's gonna be a trainwreck and I love trainwrecks.
I mean, how is he run after bad guys? His bloated head looks like it weighs 75 pounds! :O
Discotheque @ Nov 12th 2009 7:27PM
You all laugh at Seagal now but what of Jean Claude Van-Damme?
JCVD displayed real acting ability from the man.
Vcize @ Nov 12th 2009 9:35AM
IT'S JUST BEEN REVOKED.
Trico @ Nov 12th 2009 10:14AM
I'LL HAVE WHAT SHE'S HAVING
bl707 @ Nov 12th 2009 9:38AM

ryan @ Nov 12th 2009 10:22AM
Is this trailer exclusive to home or is it available to download via store?
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith-ATDF Co-Founder @ Nov 12th 2009 10:29AM
I would guess it's a timed Home exclusive, but will be released to the PSStore shortly.
Duke @ Nov 12th 2009 11:53AM
Clever pic ryan!
Trey @ Nov 12th 2009 10:46AM
Papa, you know this is my dream, please don't be cruel. Is she really coming home? Oh, such joy I feel!
Arkanaloth @ Nov 12th 2009 10:52AM
I honestly hope there's a lot more than this... but at least it gives someone an actual reason to log into home for a few minutes.
Misanthropic Gamer @ Nov 12th 2009 10:55AM
Announcements of announcements, countdowns to countdowns, and drip-fed PR consisting of recycled trailer footage and minor bits of gameplay information. If they spent this effort translating the fucking game, we might be able to play it sometime this century.
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith-ATDF Co-Founder @ Nov 12th 2009 10:59AM
Wada said that the translations were ahead of schedule, so they're working full steam on it.
Trey @ Nov 12th 2009 11:36AM
@bradwart: PC port, confirmed.

Ha!
Doreo (Psn-doreo503) @ Nov 12th 2009 10:57AM
I know I'll probably get "downvoted" for this but is it weird if I am more interested in Final Fantasy XIII: Versus? I'd rather see a trailer for Versus, because I love the Kingdom Hearts team so much...
Misanthropic Gamer @ Nov 12th 2009 11:03AM
You and me both. V13 looks like a refreshing departure from the tired and cliche FF formula. I can't wait.
Discotheque @ Nov 12th 2009 11:22AM
Eh not me. I personally think Kingdom Hearts was one of the worst games I've ever played. And it was all because of Nomura's decisions (from story to characters to the atrocious gameplay).
Versus XIII just looks like Kingdom Hearts minus Disney...so basically they got rid of the only thing that made it tolerable IMO. Now it looks like "Backstreet's Back RPG"
Traceur_Ryuk [Founder of The Anti-EMCB(tm) and co-leader of ATDF] (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Nov 12th 2009 1:25PM
"tired and cliche FF formula."
"Kingdom Hearts was one of the worst games I've ever played."
What the hell are you guys smoking? First of all, nearly every Final Fantasy game uses a new engine and a new combat design so I don't get that first comment.
Also, worst game ever played? Either you must not play very many games or you have really bad taste.
Discotheque @ Nov 12th 2009 2:43PM
I don't play too many "bad" games really. And for all the hype KH got I decided to try it. Nomura is easily the worst game designer to get this far into the industry. His design choices were awful, and the gameplay was just really bad. Don't get me started on the story either.
Doreo (Psn-doreo503) @ Nov 12th 2009 2:59PM
Hype? Kingdom Hearts was a "car accident" in the making, everyone doubted that it would be a good game and criticized it until the game was released. Then once it came out, everyone realized that it was a great game. Maybe you were late to play the game and the flaws it had which were tolerable weren't tolerable to you at that point in time; but it is a great rpg. Many people can tell you that, but you are entitled to your opinion; but to go as far and say that it is one of the "worst" games you've played is ludicrous.
Discotheque @ Nov 12th 2009 3:04PM
Ah for fuck's sake. It is the worst game I've ever PLAYED. Not ever SEEN. I don't intentionally go out of my way to play Big Monster Truck Rally: The Video game or something. So yes, out of all the games I've played this left the worst taste for me.
And I expected more out of it because of the big fanbase it had (bad logic on my part). I played it a year after release. And no, everyone did not realize it was a great game. Believe me there are some out there who think it sucks.
Discotheque @ Nov 12th 2009 3:36PM
Also, no hard feelings mate
nehra.junk @ Nov 12th 2009 12:10PM
If Segal says its a win...it's a win.
Kenoji (aka Neo Asuma) @ Nov 12th 2009 12:20PM
Dude, that Steven Seagal: Lawman trailer was hilarious. It's like "Above the Law" all over again, except Seagal is an actual cop now. Whats next? Chuck Norris: Texas Ranger?
koehler83 @ Nov 12th 2009 1:57PM
I'm the biggest Final Fantasy fanboy in the world, but not even this could get me to reinstall Home on my PS3.
I'll just wait for it to show up on YouTube 30 minutes later, or on the PS Store next week.
gmoyajp @ Nov 13th 2009 5:46AM
that's what alot of newbs say now in days.

jacksealey @ Nov 13th 2009 8:07AM
will this trailer be in USA/Europe only in Home or will it be in both?
gmoyajp @ Nov 13th 2009 6:02PM
