Nintendo takes the fun out of discovery with New Super Mario Bros. Wii tips video

Though our old, embittered brains remember those days fondly, you kids today with your shiny electronics and worldwide exchange of information get the not-so-secret tips straight from the horse's mouth (in sorta high-resolution, no less) on New Super Mario Bros. Wii. After watching the video you see above, we came to a scary realization: there are people out there who might not have any 2D Mario strategies already embedded in their brains. Folks, if you don't have any sort of tactic worked out for red coin collection, we're not sure this video can help you. Or if anyone can, for that matter.
Thankfully, we have a much cooler video after the break.

I died a lot when I went to play it at a friend's place... just because I'm reckless and lives are plentiful... and it's easy to mess up the other players in NSMBWii, lol.

As much as I love me some 2d platforming (especially when Mario-related), I don't have the motivation to get this game. Galaxy 2? Yeah. NSMBWii? Nay. Although I will admit that multiplayer video was awesome.

I'm very excited for this game.Some people said the game sucks because it is not on wifi and that the game is the "same version from the ds but on a tv"i watched few videos from the game from world 1 and 2.and it looks epic.and the intense gameplay made me drop my ballz off.Luigi taste like fireballz yum

The game is entirely different except for the look which is the same as NSMB but better(and nobody complained about that for The Lost Levels)

yeah I dunno dude, I'm usually rrreeeaaaalllllly critical of newer games. I don't like Metroid Prime, it's not as good as Super Metroid. I don't like Galaxy, it's not as good as Mario 64. I don't like Twilight Princess and never finished Ocarina, because I never liked them as much as LttP.
But let's be honest with ourselves here, NSMBWii looks just as good as the older Marios. The big problem is that the older style Mario game has just been done so many times that the gems are the only ones that stand out.
Personally, I think it looks good, but no Mario game will ever get me like Super Mario World did. I think that was my favorite. The NES games were fantastic of course, but I could have the most fun playing through SMW again.

I actually hated Mario 64*. I couldn't stand the camera and the controls never really felt all that great either. Mostly, I just think I wasn't ready for a 3D game yet.
Super Mario Sunshine was a surprise in that it was a gift I didn't ask for, yet when I played it I couldn't stop. Probably my favorite of the 3D Marios.
I again had no interest in getting Galaxy but a deal which left me with a gift card was all the convincing I needed. It too was better that I expected.
Looking forward to both NSMBwii and Galaxy 2 for different reasons.
*For the record, I was able to easily jump in to Mario 64 DS and it was a blast. Better than the original, I felt.

This isn't really a tips video. It's a video to encourage people to play with friends. That way, when your wii-less friends come over and see how much fun it is, they'll go out and buy their own wiis. Just more Nintendo indoctrination of the world.
