Activision may have "fewer SKUs" in 2010, but it still needs its Heroes to champion the financial cause. Guitar Hero brand CEO Dan Rosensweig tells MCV that the publisher is already working on the "next iterations" of Guitar Hero and Band Hero, and mentions that there will be "more" DJ Hero. Rosensweig makes no mention of the recently trademarked Drum Hero.
... it's rather sad when game announcements border on non-news. Well, we might as well finish by saying that Madden NFL 11 will also release next year, along with all the other sports franchises.

hey Captain, i dunno if anyone's pointed this out, but your initials are also a common acronym for Child Porn. and what with those tights you wear, and those little kiddies in your little save-the-environment group, it's kinda suspicious, don't you think?

Wait, so Activision is already working on the sequel of a game before the first game is even out? Why not wait for the sequel then? That way all the bugs and other things that are wrong with it will be fixed. Better yet, screw the original and just bring out the 'improved' sequel.

I guess they could have fewer 'Hero' sku's but the door is always open for 'Villian'

DJ Hero is by no means a bad game is just the price that keeps a lot of people away I got it since it was pay day the day it came out (PS3 ver.) and I love it if only there are people playing online.

Metallica? Nothing wrong with a secondary Spring Guitar Hero release. It was a great game, it polished and added some things from World Tour, and the song list and implementation of the band was awesome.
Smash Hits? It added drums and vocals, fine tuned guitar and bass, added the new features, and used master tracks, but it was still a cash in. A lot of people played the past game, and with only 48 songs, the world could have done without this.
Van Halen? This was a train wreck. It got pushed from a Summer release into development hell, it didn’t get the updated GH5 engine or features, only had 44 songs (plus 3 solos), and a lot of the guest acts made no sense. The world *really* could have done without this.
Band Hero? Say what you want about it, but it was good for gaming. It hits a demographic that Guitar Hero doesn't necessarily hit, and Rock Band made a smart move as well with the Lego iteration. It's not made for us, it's made for the casual crowd.
DJ Hero? The fact of the matter is it's a totally new gameplay design (for all the kiddies saying it's like Beatmania, maybe you should actually go play both games eh?), and adds something fresh to the music genre. Is it overpriced? Yea, but that doesn’t stop it from being a great game.
Add the DS Guitar Hero (and Band Hero DS as well), and this year was definitely overkill. While Rock Band tripled their titles and branched off from the one game mentality, I definitely still feel like Guitar Hero milked things much more so.
For all you guys shit talking though, save it. They just announced that an 8 game year for 2009 could be halved for next year. I’m 100% down with that and I’m glad they realize there’s a saturation of this market.
