Sony throwing an adhocParty in North America this month

We're hoping that, some time in the next year, Sony will enhance its platforms even more with a new technology called the "space bar." It could really work wonders for adhocParty on PSPgo.

this is awesome news! Now i can actually play Outrun Cost 2 Cost with people... or not =(
Toop @ Nov 13th 2009 1:44PM
Pffftt names don't need spaces in them. Hell, even the word spacebar doesn't need a space in it.
LegendaryRedass @ Nov 13th 2009 5:25PM
Spacebar? Sounds like a helluva good time to me. Just look out for Fist's men!
davideogamer @ Nov 13th 2009 1:47PM
YES! Now I'll finally have reason to keep playing Dissidia MHFU, among others. Can't wait for this to arrive.

It's about time. Using the Japanese one is kind of a bitch. It's been over 10 minutes since this post dropped and no comment from Darth yet...?
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Nov 13th 2009 1:49PM
Woot, great service that can actually bring the sense of community that a noncommute centric lifestyle of Japan's PSP lineup enjoys.
Or not, hard to tell at this point.
Dale @ Nov 13th 2009 1:51PM
I wish they would just throw all of their resources at LittleBigPlanet.
Peter Moore @ Nov 13th 2009 1:51PM
That guy on the bottom center is freaking the fuck out.

Ashitaka @ Nov 13th 2009 5:01PM
And the one on the bottom left corner is running away xD
Traceur_Ryuk [Founder of The Anti-EMCB(tm) and co-leader of ATDF] (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Nov 13th 2009 5:05PM
Lol, not really. Sorry, but I didn't want to spend more than 5 minutes on such a stupid picture.
Bailers77 @ Nov 13th 2009 1:57PM
Awesome news. Anyone use it now, and do you know how a friends list will work? I'm guessing it isn't directly tied to the PS3 friend list, but it would be nice to have something similar.
T-Patch @ Nov 13th 2009 2:07PM
Don't know for sure, but judging from some of the documents I've read on it, it might be like an invite system.
Bailers77 @ Nov 13th 2009 2:57PM
I guess that would work. Still I can hope for a tie in to the PSN network somehow. If only Sony would make their website better. Xbox is so far ahead with their web interface, it would be nice if we could interact better with our friend list outside of the XMB.
Katana Master @ Nov 13th 2009 2:11PM
So I can play Monster Hunter Freedom online with 3 other people? AWESOME!
But do I need to plug my PSP into the PS3 to use it? :(
Marty @ Nov 13th 2009 2:17PM
You don't need to plug in the PSP ( they can wirelessly connect ) but the PS3 HAS TO be wired to the router/broadband modem.
T-Patch @ Nov 13th 2009 2:21PM
Nope, just start up the Ad-Hoc, sync up the PSP, and you should be good to go.
Of corse, the PS3 must be using a wired internet connection, but no, you don't need to plug in the PSP

@Peter Moore
To the untrained it may seem like random caps, but there is actually a secret code embedded in his comment.

pat_boy2008 @ Nov 13th 2009 2:21PM
FINALLY! I sick of having to remeber what all the buttons do in the Japan version.
C-Smooth777 @ Nov 13th 2009 4:13PM
Yo Chris D! Where are you from?
Phil @ Nov 13th 2009 4:27PM
I just hope this wont mean that all newer game will only use adhoc, letting this program pick up the slack for their online offering.
SourceJR @ Nov 13th 2009 7:42PM
Finally!
BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] @ Nov 13th 2009 7:49PM
Bah, I can't do a wired connection for my PS3, so I guess this is useless for me... I was hoping it would've been something I could've used (never could figure out XLink Kai). Oh, well.
GuardianLegend @ Nov 13th 2009 8:56PM
Sigh, I wish I had a PS3 with wi-fi in it. I have the 20 gigger.
Frank @ Nov 14th 2009 12:54AM
Now I can definitely, certainly say Sony is on a roll. Congrats.
jmwhiteiv @ Nov 15th 2009 7:00AM
time to hit the pawn shop and by a cheap, used PS3.
PS3 - It just does everything a PSP accessory should do.
/snark
(totally serious about the pawn shop though, they got PS3s for like 80-100 bucks)
